Did you get the depo lupron or the depo provera shot?  The lupron is used for management of endometriosis and pain along with the hopes to reduce endometriotic lesions.   The depo provera is a birth control shot.

How long ago has it been since stopping the depo provera shots?   Sometimes women's fertility returns right away and others it can take 6-18 months.   Did you mention this to your dr and let them know how long ago it has been since stopping the depo provera shots?

Thanks very much you've been so helpful, i'm beginning to wonder if there is a possibility of endometriosis, i'm like the way you were, i'm supposed to be ovulating sometime over these past 3 days and for the past 2 i've been a little sore that sometimes doing the loo is impossible (sorry TMI)  I used Depo for 2 and a half years and it was great but now i have problems conceiving after coming off of it.  I so hope the doc's find something otherwise i'm going to feel so useless.  I'll keep you updated on my results, hopefully i'll see my BFP before the end of 2010

I remember those days and still know the pain.  Unfortunately with endometriosis it never goes away bu tthey can make things more comfortable with the surgery.   I even tried to do the depo lupron shot to reduce the endometriosis.  It worked a bit since my last laproscopic surgery I had only mild endometrosis.   With mine I was in pain all of the time but it was horrible during ovulation.  I didn't want my husband to touch me in any way at all.  I would have a period every 15 days and those were the only days when I was not in any pain at all.  I looked forward to AF showing her nasty head back then.

Be prepared for some shoulder discomfort it is due to the carbon dioxide gas that the insert into your abdominal cavity.  Some of the gas will dissipate to some of your muscles and it seems to like the shoulders.   Right after I woke up from being under the second time the nurse gave me some suggestions that really helped.

She had me ball up my fist and push into my abdominal area lightly with my fist and cough.  It helped a lot and I didn't have any shoulder pain after the pain meds wore off.   The first nurse was horrible.  Instead of telling me what to do she came over to the bed and started to push on my stomach.  It hurt so bad when she did it that I swung my feet off the bed and was grabbing for my IV bag so I could hurt her back.

They also did dissolving stitches the first time and it was deep inside my belly button area so there was no scars.  The second time the doctor had to make his incision off to the side and put in staples so I have a little scar from that one.

Try not to worry, this is a pretty easy exploritory surgery and recovery time is pretty short.

I've got my laparoscopy on the 14th April only a week away.  All i know from the HSG was it looked like the dye had passed through my left tube and ovary but not on the right side.  They don't know if it was because there wasn't enough dye put through to go through the right side.  But i told them i wasn't having it done again unless i was put under an anaesthetic.

I honetly think i have some endometriosis, it would explain the painful period cramps, heavy bleeding and bleeding between periods, also ttc can be a bit painful during ovulation my partner can't penetrate to hard or i'm screaming my head off with the pain.

I'm hoping for some good results, thanks for all the info you've given me i can't wait for it to be over

Were they able to complete any of the HSG testing?   My first HSG was very painful, even after 2 darvocets prior to the appointment I ended up with my first fainting spell.   I don't remember much of it except walking from the xray room back to my room with my husband.  As I was walking down the hallway I seen people start to run towards me and I felt strange.  The next thing I knew I was laying down in a bed with doctors and nurses standing over the bedside with a few machines hooked up to me to monitor me just in case.   The found at that appointment that I had some pretty bad scar tissue in one of my tubes but the next HSG they were able to push through some of the scar tissue to open up the tube.  By my 4th HSG my tubes were clear.

Now if they find a section of the tube is blocked the doctors are able to remove and splice the tube back together with minimal damage as long as it is not at the very ends of the tubes.

When do you go in for your appointment and your surgery?

Yeah everything came back fine for my partner, the HSG test was too painful which is the reason why the doc is putting me through the laparoscopy, i can only hope and pray something will be found but nothing to serious that i can't get pregnant with.

That is the reason the doctors ended up finding out that I had endometriosis.  In my early 20's after being married for a few years, never been on birth control in my life and was not able to get pregnant at all the doctor decided to do exploritory surgery.

I'm 37 now and have been actively trying for 16 years. At 18 I got married and we never used any type of protection. Been pregnant 8 times but no live births.  It seems like lately with my current husband I am able to get pregnant very easy but before I was not able to.   The doctors have been testing me to find out why I get pregnant however I miscarry every time between 5-9 weeks pregnant.

I am assuming your docotor did a HSG and tested hubby before putting you through the pain of laparoscopic surgery?

the docs are checking me for everything, i'm hoping they find something minor so i have a reason as to why i've not conceived.  have you had any children? How long have you been ttc?

It took me a few months because of how sore I was after the procedure where I didn't want anything to do with hubby however even after they removed all the adhesions I still miscarried.

Are you having laparoscopy for endometriosis?  I had a severe case of it and have had 2 surgeries for it so far.
