IVF at 37 years old

Hi, Im kinda new in here.  Pretty much been on the fertility/infertility forum.  But I am 37 (Feb. 1972) and I am about to try IVF for the first time.  I am so scared out of my mind.  I have wanted to do this for a long time but we have just saved up the money.  My husband and I have been trying to get preggers since 2002.  We have achieved one pregnancy which ended in a mc.  Now that the time has finally come, I am wondering what do I need to do to prepare b/c we might only get this one chance at IVF.  Do I need to change my diet to all fruits and veggies?  Should I do Acupuncture before and after the precedure.  Am I to eat pineapples after the transfer.  Should I take baby asprin? Ohhhhhhhh it's just so much information out there.  Where do I start and when do I start?

I've done IVF - once w/a cancelled cycle and one w/a donor one.  Since you're 37, you should do just fine - age plays such a factor in all of this I found out.

Don't take baby aspirin unless specified by your doctor.  Try accupuncture though - many women on the fertility forum have done it & says it does wonders for the stress that IVF puts on them.

DO NOT smoke.  This hugely affects fertility - I'm sure you already know this but thought I better add this anyway.  Caffeine and alcohol - re clinics seem to have different takes on these subjects - my re's office says small amounts of caffeine are okay as well as alcohol but they highly recommend no alcohol after a positive pregnancy test.  There are differences of opinion on this.

Also, begin taking prenatal vitamins.  That will help your body get ready for pregnancy and most of all, try to relax.  Probably if you can, stop doing the research on the internet (I'm a fine one to talk - LOL) or at least only do limited amounts.  One way I got through these procedures was ignorance.  I didn't know anything which is bad in one way and good in another.

Sorry for making this so long - I wish you the best of luck! - jen
