Keeping pregnancy a secret from family for now (am almost 5 weeks )

Question

Wanted to keep pregnancy a secret until after my first doctor appt next month. Did anyone else wait? If so until when? Its hard because have to refuse wine,certain foods, coffee.. They probably think I am super picky! Lol. It will all make scense soon! We are at my in laws house. :)

Thankyou everyone for your comments :) decided we are telling our parents after the first appt at 8 weeks. I am going crazy keeping this secret! Lol. Our moms are going to be ecstatic! Neither of them have grandchildren yet :) What a perfect xmas gift.. This is me and my husbands first child I am 36 and he is 45.. good luck to everyone And I hope you have great pregnancies And a speedy delivery!! :)

Everyone advices avoid stress. I found it too stressful to keep it an absolute secret. so we told our closest friend and my father and sister, who live out of state. we swore them to secrecy and explained high risk that anything could happen at any time. but that we want them to share in our joy. everyone else we decided to tell after the first dr appt. because there will be danger right up until the birth.

We did waited first scan at 12 weeks coz its tge risk of Miscartiage is well diminish....like this less pressure!

We rang both mine and my husbands immediate family ie. parents and siblings as soon as we got back from the drs to confirm the pregnancy, I was about 5wks, it was thrilling news after ttc for 22months im 37 ftm. Then we did tell a few close friends, the slowly told friends we see often and my close workmates. After I heard the heartbeat at 10wks we told  extended family. Now will wait till after the 12wk scan before shouting it from the rooftops.
Its been nice having the people I travel with daily know, they all have been super protective, caring and supportive

Hi I'm 41 and 1st pregnancy, my husband couldnt wait so he told everyone . We were told then Oct 24 that we were 4 weeks 4 days. Now last sono was measured 5weeks ;-)  seems we had a positive ept at about 1+ week and Now I wish I could have waited Cuz I can already hear "Your still Pregnant"  :-) lol.

I did the same. I waited until my DR confirmed and then me and my fiance through a BBQ to announce it. They may suspect something just tell them your on a special diet and when u announce it just say your on a special baby diet. Good luck!

We are 5 weeks. Learned I am pregnant at 3. Told my family but did not tell yet to my fiance family. In my family we have a positive pregnancy history: no mc. In his family not that great. So, he decided to wait telling his family. Plus, his family is waiting for invitations to bridal shower not baby shower. Lol I need my family to know so I can call them and talk about what is goin on. I am 38 and my first baby.

We didn't tell until rght around 14 weeks, I'm 14 today.  I'm still not "out of the woods" yet but my family was getting suspicious.

Am 7 weeks tomorrow and still not telling anyone. Have lost little angels in the past, and am going to wait till end of first trimester e.g. 12 weeks to announce.

We aren't telling yet. I'm in week 9. Don't know when or if we'll tell anyone anytime soon. My work knows, my partner knows. But its kinda nice having this just to ourselves right now. Plus we are waiting until the end of the first trimester and probably till after we have our genetic testing done at the very earliest. We don't want to excite the kids and something go wrong or whatever. Good thing about waiting on the genetic screening, we'll know if its a boy or girl when we tell our kids.

I'm the same no one nose I'm preg and I'm 31 weeks and the only people that no is my new friends on hear my hubby my doc and midwife that is it I can still pass my belly off with layers so no one notices it and they won't no till I have him..wait till your ready to tell them and if you want to wait till after that's up to you love :-) hope this helps love x
