Low Placenta

I have 2 doctors one is my sonogram doct and the second is my ob gyn both of them r very good doctors. I went for my sonogram on 10/15/10 and the sonogram doct reported that my placenta was setting low but my cervix was still long and closed and said the placenta could still go up and didn't seem to be worried about it. I went to my ob gyn after my sonogram and he read the report and seemed worried about it and asked if the sonogram doct told me to take it easy. I told him no and he said to be on the safe side he would advise me to take it as easy as possible but not to worry. Has anyone else had this happen? I am 40 yrs old and this is my 5th baby

This is actually pretty common.  My placenta was also almost right over my cervix and low, but moved up like trying's did, and no real problem's after that (well, no problems that had anything to do with a low placenta anyway).  They will monitor it and if it stays low they will have you take the appropriate precautions.

Hi I had low lying placenta with my first son and it was actually covering some of  my cervix but it moved up later.  Good luck to you
