Low fluid levels @ 38w

Well, I posted this over on the 18-34 community but I guess no one over there has been though this, or could answer my question...So If you dont mind I am posting it here to see if any of you could. Thanks

I had an U/s on thursday with my high risk dr. and everything was looking good, I dont know what my levels were at that time, but Im guessing with in the normal range. Well, I had another u/s Monday as my NST wasnt looking to good at my Ob's appt. so I was sent to L&D for another one and a Profile U/s, Nst was good. and everything on the u/s was good but the Fluid levels were Lower then what they were on Thursday(4days between u/s's) It was 7.3-7.2, I know anything around or less then 5 isnt good. I have togo back Friday morning for another u/s, Im sure everything will be Ok. I just wonder, what could cause my fluids to drop? My Ob didnt really say much and just said we needed to repeat the U/s. And to keep an eye on movement...The more I think about it or try to find infor on the web, the more I become scared that something well happen....Has anyone goes though this?

Usually, amniotic fluid is made up of the baby's urine, among other things.  I know when my friend had lower fluid levels, the dr. suspected a kidney issue with the baby.  When I had my 20 week scan the dr. told me that I had plenty of amniotic fluid which means the baby's kidneys are functioning well.  I'm not saying this is the problem with you but it's the only thing I know of.  I'm sure your situation will turn out fine.
