M/c 4 weeks ago, got blood test HCG level is at....

M/c 4 weeks ago, got blood test HCG level is at a level 10 which I don't get because I was 3-5 weeks pregnant (we weren't sure when I got pregnant because I don't remember when I had my period in August, I don't chart my periods, never have prob. never will, I just know when I would usually get my period)

now my levels got to the 170, might have been the 300s, not sure but when they dropped off, they were around those numbers, that was 4 weeks ago.

Went to the docs on Monday because I had a positive pregnancy test on Sat, sunday, monday and now today is Wed, still pos.

I asked her about that and she said because I was early on, the hcg numbers should be at a '0' once the bleeding stops.
the bleeding lasted for 6 to 7 days and 2 days after it did, hubs and I went back to 'deed' time .

so going back, on Monday, had blood drawn, today they called me and said my HCG level was at a '10' ,which is kind of odd, because I was early on and the numbers from the get go was very low.
not sure if the doc wants me back in or not. because I can never get a hold of the doctor to tell them what is going on because i have been sexual with hubs and no condom because I do want to get preggo again.

so question is, could I have gotten pregnant again?? is that '10' a new and early pregnancy. I took a test about 10 min ago (it is nearly 7pm est) and still says 'positive'.

It is certainly true that your HCG levels have to be at 0 prior to your body ovulating again.  If you miscarried at only 3-5 weeks, chances are your levels lowered fairly quickly.  It is also true that most Dr.'s recommend waiting a cycle in between a loss and trying to conceive again.  I wasn't necessarily trying, but my last miscarriage was very early and so I guess I ovulated again fairly soon after it was over.  I wonder if that happened to you as well.  Please let us know what the result is.  I hope you are doing well.

My levels were at 88 on monday I was 3 weeks along and within 72 hours they dropped to only 20. dr says when they hit low like that it is either a threatened miscarry or you are in the prosess of one. I myself had one yesterday and i am stilll cramping. very horrible, depressed and I hope all goes well for you on your part. It takes atleast 14 days after a miscarry to have a normal cycle inwhich if you are tryin for another then it couod be that you maybe prego again or it could be from the last still because hcg levels lower or rise every 72 hours <--(that came straight from the er dr.).

I had miscarriage end of june and levels were still over 400 4 weeks later.. took total of 8 weeks for levels to drop below 5, which is necessary to ovulate. These boards often have people chiming in on if you can ovulate before levels drop and you cannot. it's the lack of HCG or hormone levels that cause the rest of the hormones to move and create the LH surge, spike and growth of follicle. So while your body is detecting hormones above around 5, you will not ovulate and not be able to get pregnant. That's why it's important to follow your levels down.. once they fall all the way, then you can watch for a new pregnancy, which can happen right away. You are not more fertile after a miscarriage (another popular wives tale), but you are just as fertile.  Good idea to wait for one full cycle before trying or going with unprotected sex as often the lining of your uterus takes one cycle to build up enough to sustain a pregnancy, but not necessary. If you ovulate, you can get pregnant and you are obviously fertile since you got pregnant in the first place.  But you can have pregnancy levels providing high enough numbers for today's pregnancy tests, for weeks after you miscarry.

Its really hard to say for certain.  When you miscarry that early, typically your blood levels go down quickly and your body readjusts quickly as well.  However, it is certainly possible that it is taking longer.  It is also possible you are pregnant again.  With my last loss I conceived this little guy right away....I didn't have AF or anything in between.  I found out I was pregnant again about 2-3 weeks after the bleeding from my m/c stopped.  This baby is doing very well.  They only way to know for certain is for them to retest your HCG levels in a few days.  If they are going up, then you are pregnant again.  Good luck to you.
