hey heather! i was sooo nervous to get off the progesterone as well! they actually told me to stop at 7.5 weeks!!!! all the studies are now showing that your placenta has taken over by then.. but of course with my history i decided umm ill stay on it just to be safe until the 12 week or so mark... i started tapering down and thats when i started bleeding!! ahh no cramping though.. but they assured me that was from placenta previa not from the progesterone stopping.. at 11 weeks your placenta has more than taken over the job of progesterone!: ) good luck and CONGRATS!!!! : )
Hey Heather! You are welcome! Yep, I agree MH is heavenly!!!! So, glad to hear that you are going to try to relax!!!!!
Have a great night!
Thank you guys so much! I'm so glad I have a place to ask all these questions. Sometimes it feels better to talk to someone who's been though it all themselves than a doctor...you know? Anyway, I will try to take your advice and relax a bit more :-)
Heather
Heather - I really wouldn't worry - I did the PIO shots - they're so much fun! - & had a few scary cramps after they were stopped at 11w6d. Just to be on the safe side though, call the clinic and let them know. I did that too - the nurse kept reassuring me that all was well and she was right.
Rachel's right - try to relax, hon. You're nearly there - when do you have your first ob appt?
I too was taking prometrium during the 1st trimester. I stopped taking it around 13 weeks, only because I had placenta previa and I wanted to make sure that placenta had started making its on progesterone and enough nourishments for my baby. Just like you I was very afraid to get off of it, but everything turned out just fine!!
As for the cramping I had that a good deal, pretty much the whole 1st trimester and even part of the 2nd. My doctor reassured me this was very normal as long as I was not spotting/bleeding. I think this is our body's way for preparing to make room for our little one.
I know how hard it is not to be nervous, but just try and relax!!! You are almost all the way out of the scary 1st trimester!!!!!
