My little trip to L&D....and still no baby!!!!!!!!!!

Well I had a little scare on Friday night and ended up in the hospital. I had been at home and realized the baby hadn't been moving at all. I called the doc on call and was advised to come in right away. We loaded up the girls and set off, (thankfully my sister lives across the street from the hospital), so she kept the kids. We get there, they monitor me and check me and I am having contractions and what do you know my little one decides to start moving and all seems well. The doctor comes in and checks me and says nothings changed since Tuesday and I can go home. I wanted to cry.... I have never carried past 37 wks and being so miserable the last month I just broke down. I know it was better to be safe than sorry, I just want to have my little one!!!! Anyone else had false alarms?

LOL!!!! "slid right out!!" That really made me laugh.

Now, my step sis also tried castor oil to no avail...except lots of toots and nausea...but that was just her. Good luck!

Oh, btw... my sister didn't experience bad diahrrea or nausea with this, and frankly, she just took the castor oil without mixing it with anything.  I'm not sure I would try that.  it tastes bad.  Maybe with some juice would be okay.

Anyway, she went into labor pretty quickly.  Actually, she had the baby 13 minutes after she got to the hospital!  I always joked that the baby slid right out! :P

Hello!

Sounds like baby would be fine to appear, so castor oil might be a way to go.  Worked like a charm for my sis!  I can't remember how much she took, but it wasn't much.

Here is a good article on using castor oil to begin labor:

This site also has some other natural ways to start labor.

Yes, you are the first person I've met who spells your name the same as me! :)

Don´t worry the baby will come when it is ready... Nature has a way of taking care of itself... I know it feels dissappointing but be glad tht nothing was wrong with your little one and that it is happy and healthy inside ofyou

Thanks, I need all the advise I can get, the baby was measure via US 2 wks ago and was said to be 7 1/2 lbs and the margin of error was 1/2 lb either way and the biggest baby I have ever had was 6 lbs 10oz. I am worried girl, Do you know haw much Castor oil she took? I'll have to make DH help me out with the other but I am in uncharted waters here and miserable!!!!
Sheri-(you don't find too many people who spell their name like we do).

If baby is of normal size and doc thinks you are safe to go into labor any time, there are a few things you can do to start labor.  I'm sure you're familiar with some of them.  Walking is supposed to help, as well as having sex (let DH ejaculate inside) and nipple stimulation.

My sister took castor oil to induce labor and it worked within 12 hours!
