I do not have any midwife or doctor assigned to me - probably made a bad choice with the office to begin with, but my cousin recommended them.....I've had another sleepless night because of painful contractions, but in a few hrs they were gone. Got a doctor on a phone - he said take your pill one hr earlier and let me knoe whats gonna happen. So i did, nothing special, only 3 contractions for one hr and no pain, so i'm waiting for it at night.
I can't imagine going through this. Thankfully, the contractions did subside.
Do you have an appt. with your doctor soon? Or is there a midwife at your practice that you could go in and see? Again, my experience with the midwife at my practice has been so wonderful. She just has a whole different demeanor about her and takes times to talk to me.
Keep us posted!
Thank you for your reply! I'll go and check that web site right away. I think i have no more then 5 during an hour, although they are not regular. Once i started to take my nifedipine every 4 hrs i feel them less. Couldnn't sleep this night for 3.5 hrs because was getting this pulling on my back and low pelvic area, and it reminded me actual contractions - i was scared, but they subsided.
Are you tracking how many you are having an hour? My OB told me more than 5 an hour, (in my case I was having tightening but no pain) was a concern and that I was to call them if that ever happened.
Personally, I love midwifes. They tend to take more time with you and are more down on our level.
I agree with adgal, you need to push back if you really think your concerns are not being addressed. You need to be your own advocate!!!!
On a different but a good note, since you are 32 weeks, the closer you get to 34 wks and above, the less concern for your baby's viability. Not to say your baby may not need treatments and testing done but I posted the below to hopefully ease your mind a bit in terms of your baby's viability. I know it eases mine a bit, Im 26 weeks.
Per http://www.keepkidshealthy.com/Newborn/premature_babies.html
"The more mature your baby is at birth, the more likely that it is that he will not have any problems,...Babies born at 30-33 weeks usually do even better, and have a very high rate of survival. After 34 weeks, babies are usually only mildly immature and usually do very well."
Do you have a regular OB you can see as opposed to the nurses or midwives at the hospital? I don't know a lot about BH, but I think you need to get a lot more agressive with your Dr. about getting checked out. You don't want to wind up in premature labour if you can avoid it. Sorry, thats the best I can do, but I do wish you well. Please try to see an actual OB. Good luck to you.
