Yes I took it and got pregnant on the FIRST cycle!!!! Currently I am 13 weeks.  I took 5mg on days 3-7.  They then monitored the follicle develop starting at day 10-13.  I got an hcg trigger on the morning of day 13 with a 22mm follicle.  We BD'd that night and the next.  I started prometrium a few days later to help support the lining.  Everything has measured perfect so far.  I really feel they covered all the bases and made it so we couldn't miss.  I also read a blog in which the girl has pcos and just started her first cycle of femara too with little success on clomid - she just got a BFP last sunday (theunlucky20percent.blogspot.com)!  Just make sure your doctor does an ultrasound on day 2 or 3 to confirm that there is no baby in there just by chance.  It does cause birth defects if you take it when you are already pregnant.  (It has a very short half life so if you get pregnant it is totally gone by the time implantation occurs).  I also had no side effects from it at all and I never tried clomid.  Good luck - I think it is a wonder drug!!!
