Ok I gotta ask because I read it

Hi.

Ok I was reading "What to Expect" and they said that don't be suprised if you poop during labor (like on the table or whatnot). Makes sense but my coworker who is due in July is all "get out".

Is this true?

Hello.
Maybe different hospital have different ideas. Where I was they gave you an aenema to save the blushes and the mess.
I ended up with an epidural, my legs around a poor doctors neck (cos no control of them) and a room full of students watching  while baby and I were fitted an internal monitor.
They might have well have just let poop !!!!

Corn. hahahaha Speaking of corn, did you ever watch "Rock of Love" with Bret Michaels? The show forum boars (TWOP.com) made fun of it so bad that they created a theme song for him. Every **** has it's Corn. Too funny. Now I have that song in my head.

I know...this post has gone of the deep end. Hope at least people got a giggle out of it.

OK, now I am even creeped out about this.

I was going to cook up a bunch of corn for dinner, but seeing as how I'm nearly 37 weeks and am having contractions, I'm thinking that's not such a good idea if you know what I mean.  LOL.

I'm going to ask about that enema.  My DH thinks having an eneman and reeking up the delivery room is equally disgusting though...

Well I havent had a baby yet...but Ive been present with a friend and my sister....happened to BOTH of them.  It was cleaned up so fast that I really didnt take notice of it.  I was too consumed with that amazing little head poking out. They both asked and I confirmed but it doesnt matter.....

I haven't with either of my first two, but am still nervous about doing it this time around.  Oh well, it's like the other ladies said, you really aren't even thinking about that aspect during the pushing part!!

most do! when you are in labor... and you have to push.. most dont even relize they do it. the hospitals dont make a fuss out of it because... its a natural reaction... they clean it up... and move on with progress.

I try and get myself... on a normal cycle... lol... try to regulate myslef.. so I know the time to expect a bowl movement... one of the signs of labor is fills like you need to have a bowl movement. so you tend to empty out your bowls.. befor hand if given the time!!.. smile..

lol I have read some casses... babys are born in the comode... now thats crazy...

I did with my first!! I argueed with my nurse for about 10 minutes telling her that I had to go #2 , she kept insisting that it was just presure and I should start pushing. I knew I had to go!! She finally said to do it on the bed!! I was so mad I bared down to push and did it right there and made her clean it up!! I was a little embarressed afterwards but the doctor kept telling me it was normal. During labor with my second I didnt though:)

I read that the babies head and pressure actually forces it out. But yeah - I too am worried about doing it as well, but I figure that at the time it will be the last thing on my mind. And like everyone else has said - I'm sure that they have seen it all before!!

yep...its true!!  I was horrified at the thought of that happening before I had my son.  And while I was in labor...it did.  I suspected that I had pooped, and my husband confirmed it.
But, it is SO true that at the time, when you're in labor.....its the furthest thing from your mind and you really won't give a sh** about it...LMAO....(no pun intended)
Also keep in mind that the nurses and Dr's have seen it all.  They quickly and discreetly remove any poop that appears ....so it really wasn't that traumatic.

I did with my first and was so embarrassed.  For my second they gave me a choice of having an enema and I took it!  I'll most likely get one again for this one just in case.
