Our Fears Are Our Reality

Hello to everyone again and thanks so much to everyone who posted encouraging words regarding the fears that our baby had a chomorome abnormality.  I won't take the time to re-tell my story.  However, if you search under "Baby Measuring Small" you will be able to read the background.  Just a final update...we lost our baby.  The results of the amnio conducted 2 weeks ago came back that the baby had 69 chromosomes or triploidy.  According to everything we were told it is fatal and that it was unlikely the baby would make it to term.  A follow up ultrasound the next day showed no heartbeat and that our baby had passed.  While this was heartbreaking news, we were somewhat relieved that God made the decision we so feared to make.  This was my first pregnancy and was one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever experienced.  I was just one day from my 17th week.  I am hopeful though and do want to try again.  I look forward to the day I can post again saying I'm pregnant!  I wish each of you the very best with your pregnancies and welcome anyone who has gone through something similar and would like to talk more...please send a note.  Take care!!

I too had a pregnancy that ended in m/c that was 69 triple X triploidy.  The good news is this - I tried again, after multiple m/c's and now I am 26 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl.

i am so sorry. you are in my thoughts. i have lost 3 but i only got as far as 14 weeks. i cannot imagine how much it hurts and that stage. all i can say is that it is a blessing that you had nothing to do with it. you kept that baby safe and gave it everything it needed.

I am very sorry I have lost 3 and I know how incrediably hard it is.  You are right is a blessing that the baby passed away freeing you from making the decision.  My last baby the decision was really made by the dr. because I had a serious infection and my baby was to early at 21 weeks for them to do anything.  I feel a lot of guilt that I let the dr put me before my baby.   My prayers are with you.  talkk to your dr about pre screening and preventing that is helping me cope.

I am so very sorry to hear about your late m/c.  My first one was at 9 weeks after we saw a heartbeat and I found that devastating, so I can only imagine how you are feeling now.  I hope it helps to know that most all of us ladies have experienced a loss of a baby growing in our womb and many of us have gone on to give birth to another healthy baby.
May you feel love and compassion during this time and know that we all are here to listen.

I'm so sad for you!  I too suffered a late m/c and it was horrible.  We didn't want to make any kind of horrible decisions either so like you said, in a way the baby's passing made it a tiny bit easier to accept.  God bless you during this recovery period - give yourself time to mourn - sooner than you know, you'll have that BFP! - jen

As all of the others have said...I am so sorry you are going through this. I also had a m/c. We found out at 16w5d, our baby had some chromosomal abnormalities as well. As I am still sad about the loss...time does heal. If you ever want to talk, feel free. You'll be in my prayers.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about your loss!!  Sending you lots and lots of new baby dust!!
God works in mysterious ways, not always easy to understand but like you said, better that he made the decision instead of you. I am praying for you as well.
