Ovulation Kit

Hi everybody,

This is my first time posting and I am curious to find out what is the best ovulation kit out there in your opinion?
I am 35 and want to start trying for a second child.
Thanks!

Marie

The OvaCue is considered one of the best on the market but it is very expensive (almost $300).  It is digital and saliva based - so very easy to read, easy to use, and accurate, and it predicts ovulation earlier that any other test.  I also have used the saliva microscope kits and while pretty accurate they can be hard to read sometimes and a little finicky.  From what I hear other people saying the Clear Blue Digital seems the next best to the OvaCue.  I have not used or heard about Maybe Baby.  I was willing to spend the money on the OvaCue because I was 39 and figured if it worked it was a lot cheaper than fertility treatments.  It may have been a complete coincidence but I got pregnant the first month using the Ovacue (22 weeks now).

Best of luck to you!!!

Clear Blue Digitals were the best for me. Easy to read as you get a smiley face if you are ovulating and there's no guess work involved.
I also found using Ovulation kits along with BBT charting helped me understand when I would Ovulate with all the changes my body went through.

Clear Blue Fertility monitor is also supposed to be good, but I never used it my self as I got my BFP the week after I bought the monitor.

Good luck to you and Lots of Baby Dust!!

Maybe baby seems to be pretty good.  I have one of those.  Actually I use maybe baby and then just use the disposable monitor on the 1 or 2 days that the Maybe Baby says that I am going to ovulate.

That said, the maybe baby said I was ovulating this cycle (and I felt I probably was), but i wasn't able to catch it on the disposable test kit.

7 days until I can test....

i use maybe baby. it is a reusable ovulation test. cost around $80au. its a saliva test so there are no urine tests necessary. much less intrusive and alot easier than collecting urine!! the dried saliva forms a pattern that is viewed through the included mini mircoscope tells you when you are ovulating, due to the hormonal changes that occur in saliva around the time of ovulation. head to their website and have a look. :)

I used the digital monitor from ClearBlue (the one with low, medium, high fertility days) and I strongly recommend it: it was always right no matter the length of my cycles, it's a great tool to monitor your ovulation.

I have never used OPK's before, but I know that a lot of women use the OPK's from early-pregnancy-tests *******.  I fear that the web address will be starred out because of Medhelp's wonderful censoring.  Let's hope not.  I hear that they work, and they are much less expensive than the ones you buy from the drugstores.  They also sell pregnancy tests at a very cheap price as well.

Good luck and Super Sticky Baby Dust!!!
