Ovulation test strips worth getting or not ???

Ive been using these ovulation test strips and never seem to get a clear positive result.

Has anyone else had this or are they just a waste of money?

But since it says you are a male on your profile, I think it might be because you are male and that's why it's not working right??? Unless you mistakely forgot to change your sex to female on your profile...

I had the clearblue ovulation test and it showed that I ovulated 8 days after my period ended...so much earlier than the expected 14 days that they talk about.  So after purchasing the test, I got pregnant a couple of months after using it twice.  I just didn't know I was ovulating so early...it was pretty helpful. Plus I like the little smiley face that shows up when you are at optimal ovulation...so reassuring LOL.

I am also a fan of the ClearBlue...and thanks to Birdie, will be getting them from ebay in the future.  Way cheaper.  Those regular test strips with the two lines make me crazy...I had to use some last month because they were out of the ClearBlue digital, and was reminded again why I don't use them.  Good luck!!

I bought the cheaper online testing strips to do some testing while I am taking a break.. so I can figure things out and it is not imperative that I know absolutely that I am ovulating...

When I start up again in Feb. I will switch over to the Clear Blue Digital recommended by the ladies TTC here... they say that digital makes it much easier... know that you can ovulate anywhere within a 48 hour window after the test comes up positive...

I used the inexpensive sticks and had a few issues with them.  My bbt (which bbt only helps to tell you after you have ov) most times had me ov always a few days after the opk said so.  However, my body may take a few days to raise its temp after ov.

I like what Birds71 said about what she used.  When I get back to ttc, I will check out what she uses. Sounds like it is an easy to read test.

I had been using the inexpensive strips that you can buy online and was never really sure.  Based on this sight, I purchased the Clear Blue Easy digital ovulation kit and it's the best!  if you don't want to plunk down the money for a fertility monitor, I think this is probably the next best thing.  Through Ebay, I was able to find a pack of 20 sticks for about $25.  It gives you a very clear "O" if there is no LH surge detected, and a very clear ":)"  (That's a happy face!) if it is detected.  I just got my happy face yesterday, so I'm very happy!!

I think it depends on the brand.  I used the answer brand and never could tell.  I used an off brand from HEB and was able to get a clear results.  A lot of folks use those strips from the internet and I have heard they are hard to read.  So I think they are good if you use a good brand.  Good luck.
