Please Help Me

HI I am 39 yrs. old and I was supposed to start me period on Dec. 23rd and it has been almost 2 weeks of no period. I dont usually miss periods and i have never been this late. I had an ultrasound done on the 31st of Dec. and it showed that I had a large fibroid. And my endometrium was very thick. They said this happens when you are fixing to start your period, and also its the earliest sign of pergnancy(your body getting ready) When they looked internally, they saw something inside my womb, they said they didnt know for sure but it looked like it could be very very early stages of pregnancy..Before I had the ultrasound done I took two pregnancy tests and both were negative. Is it possible that I could be pregnant? I had nausea the whole week before xmas, that is it...it was really bad.  And the last couple of days i have had low back discomfort and mild discomfort in low abdomen and around ovaries. but nothing else has happened. Can anyone PLEASE tell me anything?! We are hoping(husband and I)that I am pregnant.

Well, as much as I respect the ultrasound, HCG appears as soon as an egg implants.  HCG levels will double app. every 48 hours in early pregnancy, so a positive will show up in bloodwork before anything can be seen on ultrasound.  It is the best way to know for certain at this point.  Give your Dr. a call and see if you can't have one.  The waiting is the worst and if you are 2 weeks late for your period, I don't think there is anyway the hormone wouldn't show up.  Good luck again!!

They werent a hundred percent sure if it was a baby, and said to wait a few weeks cause if it was it wouldnt show up on a test by the looks of it, I saw it, it was just a little dot. My mom was the tech that did the ultrasound so she told me every little thing she saw.

It sounds to me like you need to get bloodwork done.  You should also try another home pregnancy test.  I am actually a bit surprised they did an ultrasound, said it might be a pregnancy, yet didn't test your HCG levels.  Once you have missed a period, blood tests and home pregnancy tests should be accurate.  I wish you luck, I hope this is a pregnancy!!
