Pregnancy at 43?

Hello Everyone....I am 43 and have had 3 pregnancies, my last was at age 41.  They were all conceived natural.  I am currently 8 days post ovulation and am hoping so much that I may be pregnant again.  I am so tired of hearing all the bad about about having babies after 35 so I would really like some encouragement and positive stories.  Have any of you been pregnant at my age and were there any symptoms post ovulation that you could share.  I have been feeling very crampy, full, tired and foggy for that past few days.  Any responses would be greatly appreciated!  Thank You

Hi Tova!

WOW.....What a GREAT story, I am sooooo happy for you!!!!  And am so happy to hear something positive from another in my age range.  I'm trying to keep positive but today I couldn't stand it anymore so I took a test, it was negative 10 DPO.  Maybe still early but I feel sad.  Feeling little tinges in my lower abdominal area as I type this but no sore bb's.  My fingers are tightly crossed though.  What other symptoms did you have prior to BFP?  Please keep me posted on your pregnancy.

Hugs to you too!

I've never had implantation bleeding...and most pregnancies don't. Every pregnancy is different so don't worry about not having implantation bleeding this time.

Hi! I just turned 43 in March and am 16 weeks pregnant with out first little miracle!!
We tried with fertility for over a year and all BFN's!! In Dec I had an early MC and stopped everything for a much needed break! I just kept taking prenatal vitamins.....
Feb 16th I got a BFP!!! We were in complete shock.....A NATURAL PREGNANCY!!
We were told we had a 5% chance to conceive with fertility and it happened on our own!!!!
I also had no implantation bleeding so when I started to have sore BB's and counted 32 since my LMP I had to POAS. Never been so happy in my life when I saw 2 lines!!!
Yes the odds were against me....among other issues that I have...but it happened!!
Felt very tired and some nausea in the first trimester..but now feeling much better and less fatigue!
I still have a long way to go with many hurdles but I am going to keep positive and enjoy every day!!
Don't give up....have faith...miracles to happen.

Hugz

I sincerely hope you are pregnant but if not there's always next month. I am also 43 and hoping to get pregnant. I had two miscarriages when I was 41  and a dry year of no pregnancies when I was 42. But still not giving up.

If you find you don't get pregnant within a few months of trying you may want to see a professional to discuss your options. The odds are not great at our age and you may want to discuss other options.

Of course you may be pregnant now and you won't have to think about that.

Take care.

Thank you all for the responses and congratulations on your pregnancies!!!  I am now 9 days post ovulation, for the last two days I have had lower abdominal cramping and have been feeling tired, I was yawning all day yesterday.  I usually do not have cramps this far out from my period.  I am a little sad though because I have not seen any implantation bleeding, which I did have with my last two pregnancies : (.  Ugh....I want to be preggers so bad and do not want to be disapointed if the test is negative.  Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!Thank You all again!

I am now 43 and expecting my first surprise baby in just over 4 weeks time! I have had a relatively problem free pregnancy, just the usual symptoms that affect everyone regardless of age. I must admit now I am a tad fed up of being pregnant as I am extremely tired carrying my huge bump around and with baby pushing up on my poor stomach I'm suffering from the dreaded heartburn and nausea again! Not long now until I meet my little boy though! Wishing you all the best and enjoy your pregnancy!

I was a month shy of 43 when I gave birth to my daughter. She is now 7 months. She was conceived naturally and perfect in every way.

My pregnancy with her I developed GD so I was on a diet and my morning sickness was really bad. I had her via c-section.

Good Luck.

I'm only 41 so not quite there yet. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant with a naturally conceived baby (conceived MUCH faster than expected. I stopped taking my birth control and got pregnant that month! We thought it would take a few months LOL)

Both of my grandmothers had children in their early 40's and one of my great-grandmothers had a child at 45 so you could say it runs in the family :)

I have two biological children, who will be 21 and 19 in July and June respectively :) Had few issues with prior pregnancies, though both went post-term and were meconium. So far, so good with this pregnancy. No morning sickness, just occasional nausea and food aversions as well as weird, random cravings :) Am very excited to be nearing the end of the first trimester. We have seen the baby's heartbeat via trans-abdominal ultrasound.

Best of luck to you...I hope you get your BFP soon! :)
