Am 40 yr old and my period is 3 days late. I took a pregnancy test today; neg... Am having a lot of low back pain and abdominal cramping. This is the first time I miss my period. Need some advise...

If you were pregnant a test would probably pick it up by now but it is never for sure.  Also back pain doesn't normally start so soon in pregnancy.  Back pain and cramping could just be a sign that you period is not too far away.  I would wait another few days and test again.  Good Luck!

Hi:-) The cramping could also mean your period is coming. In any event, you tested too early. wait a few more days until you are at least 7 days or more late. Then test with you first morning urine to get the most accurate results.  If that test comes back negative and you still have no period, then make an appt for a Beta Blood Test. Good luck:-)
