Second Thoughts About Tubal Ligation

I signed the paperwork today to have my tubes tied after my c-section which will take place 2 weeks from today. My husband & I are not (at this point) 100% sure if we want it done. We can change our minds that day if we choose. I turn 37 that day & this baby will be our 4th child.My question is, has anyone done it & regretted it to the point you have wanted a reversal? My doctor said it's very normal to feel a sense of loss & regret of not being able to have more children because we're moms & that is what we do. Still not sure what to do, hoping for some input.

I was 15 minutes from going into the operating room & said I didn't want to do it. Really had a bad feeling about it. Now I am expecting our 6th baby!! My husband is gonna get a vasectomy during this pregnancy cause we are for sure done.

Dh & I have talked after doing more research on PTLS & we have decided to cancel the procedure. We are also rethinking the hysterectomy because of potential hormonal imbalance issues related to that.
Again, I want to that you ladies who gave your opinions & shared your stories. I had never heard of PTLS before & now even the remotest possibilty of getting it scares me.

Thanks ladies. I need a hysterectomy eventually to fix my prolapsed cervix & my OB said if we are done for sure, she wants me healed at least 1 year before she will do it, so that is why she suggested the TL. You ladies have given me more information to think about & it will help us in our final choice. I know there are other forms of bc that would give us more time to decide if we are truly done or if we want more children. I would not  TLS is real!  It made my cycles painful and I had symptoms beyond manageable. I had a reversal done and I feel whole, normal again.  I say dont do it.

I had mine tied in year 2002. I absolutely did not want anymore. But i had my first 2 at a young age, and the 3 boys came a few years after. I met dh 6yrs ago and we wanted just 1 together, so we got the reversal done. And here i am pregnant with 2nd by him lol. Definitely getting my tubes cut and burned this time around with no regrets.

I had it done after my 2nd because I was sure we were done having kids but here it is 10 years later and I've had a reversal and am 24w with baby #3.
If you can manage a different form of bc then I would recommend not having the tubal. I had so many issues as a result of the tubal that I thought I was starting to go through menopause. They've labeled it "post tubal ligation syndrome" but I know everyone is different and some women never have any issues at all.
