b4 I was pregnant I use to smoke my hookah at least 2x a week... I find it relaxes me! I'm 11w 3d HAVNT done it at all but was wondering if it will harm the baby since it's not actual cigarette or marijauna. Does anyone know anything bout this?

I love coffee! I don't really feel much effect from caffiene....maybe a bit more alert.

My point is this....

Dr.s, books, websites etc.all say that caffiene is bad for baby and to eliminate or cut down to 60mg. max per day.

I am complying with physicians protocol.

I find it funny that there are so many posts in the chat rooms of women looking for opinions/permission from complete strangers to continue to smoke, drink, smoke pot, use a little drugs etc.

I respect your hook question, but Tabasco is nicotine which calms you because it affects dopamine level in your brain. It also reduce oxygen carrying in blood stream temporarily which slows down your thought patterns, making you relax.

Your brain and body do feel the effects of the drug nicotine in the tabacco. Your baby will feel it to, and it may or may not effect brain developement.

My mom had 2 sisters. Of the 3 mommys, one smoked cigarettes and drank a little during pregnancy. The 2 mom's who did not smoke or drink had multiple healthy live births where all kids went to college...school teachers, attorneys, business peeps. The aunt who smoked and drank had low birth weight babies. All 3 boys had delayed reading abilities in school. All are very nice, kind, blue collar guys. Great people, but did mom hurt thier brain developement by smoking and drinking? Auntie now says she wishes she listened to Dr.

I heard hookas are worse than cigerettes. I quit a pack a day after a week I found out I was pregnant because I read all the harmful side effect it can do to the babies. Best wishes

Smoking anything reduces the amount of oxygen reaching baby. I quit a pack a day habit as soon as I knew I was pregnant. I figure it's better to be safe rather than sorry.
