Thanks for responding. After much reading on-line, it does appear pretty standard, so I feel better about that. I haven't scheduled yet, but I think they want me to do it before our next cycle which will be in December. Thanks again!
Hey there-I had this in the spring-they fill your uterus up with some fluid and look for polyps, fibroids, etc... it was very easy for me, no problem at all.
Good luck, this is a standard test at my practice.
Hope you are doing well!!
Thanks for your reply. I had the hysterosalpingogram done last year (minor discomfort), but they told me this was a Sonohystogram. I did look it up on-line and it looks like they check out your uterus/lining to make sure there isn't any scar tissue, fibroids, etc... I also read it was very painful and others had no pain. Just curious if anyone had had this done before, as I've never heard of this procedure until now. Thanks again!
Are you talking about a hysterosalpingogram? Where they inject dye up thru your cervix and see it how it flows into your tubes?
That test was painful for me but it was luckily very brief - the pain was sharp but it only lasted for a few seconds. However, I have heard of some women having no pain and others on the complete opposite end with alot of pain. Some doctors may prescribe Valium for the test but mine didn't. I was told I could take Advil prior to the px and then afterwards. You may want to have someone drive you but I didn't since I only took Advil.
