Stretch marks

Can anyone tell me when I can expect them to come? i'm 18w5d and i have been putting cream on my belly and boobies every night, but the more I talk to people the more they say cream doesnt help. I'm just wondering - if I'm going to get them, around what week / month will they pop up usually?

Forgot to add...my mom had a ton of stretch marks but she was a little tiny thing about 5"2 and I'm 5"8 so I think mine are not too bad for being a bigger gal. We are all built so different so I don't believe "if your mom got them theory"  Just keep lubricated girls!

I got mine over twenty years ago with my son but they weren't bad and back then I knew  nothing of pregnancy. I didn't start the cream until the end of my pregnancy so I don't think that help much. Now with my daughter 15 years ago I used the cream as soon as I found out I was pregnant and I didn't receive any new ones just the same ones I had with my son. When I lost all my weight and went to a size 5 my skin looked pretty good and you couldnt see the marks without looking very close so I was lucky there. This time around I am a bigger girl and still no sign of any new ones. I'm just gonna lube down with my preggy cream and hope that I will have the same results as once before....no promises here I guess...LOL

my mom never got them, she had 3 big babies... I just had my 10.5 pounder 2 weeks ago and never got a mark. Every Dr I know of says ask your mom, if she has/does'nt so will you most likely. I'm typing 1 handed, little dude is sleeping and HATES HIS CRIB! HELP!!

I never got any but my pg only made it to 36wk6d.  They may have popped up later if i would have made it that far. my mother has lots of them.

my friend said small ones popped up on her at 37wks and then some bigger ones at 40wks.

I agree. Stretch marks will or will not happen depending on your body. Stretch mark creams and staying hydrated can help keep your skin healthy and more elastic, but will not prevent stretch marks, if you are going to get them. Good news is that the stretch marks may fade after baby is born. I get them on my belly and hips, but they were barely noticeable after I finally got back to my normal size after baby. Good luck.

For me, they came these last few weeks (starting from week 37-38).  I thought I was not going to get them since my mom had 4 kids and she didn't get any, same for my sister with her daughter... so I wasn't very diligent in using the lotion (also because I was worried about it being safe for the baby).  I only got them on the left side of my belly.  The baby has always been resting on that side, according to my doc and midwife.
Good luck!

I've heard it's in your jeans...If you are going to get them I heard the cream will not work and that it's the last couple of weeks that it happens. GOOD LUCK!

Its hard to say if you will even get them. I didnt with my first. and Im 32w now and dont have them. the cream can hurt... so I would still use it just to be safe. Just make sure its a cream thats safe for the baby. alot of the upper price ones have warnings.
