TTC after MC soon to be 39 afraid to try again, need some hope!

Hi Everyone, Was looking for some insperation I am nearly 39 and had a missed moscarriage at christmas! I have since been diagnosed peri-menopausal but am still ovulating  and ahving reg periods although each cycle different my male Dr scared me to death made me feel like it was a no hoper and the emd of the line. I have since moved dr's to a feamel dr who said to go for it and try again ?? despite having low estrogen she said they can send me to the early pregnancy clinic and can suppliment me if necessary. I have given myself 3 months to grieve and get my body sorted but am scared to death it will happen again.

I am taking Agnus Cactus and a whole host of vits, star fower oil you name it!!! I even got some soya flavnanors yesterday but heard you shouldnt misx them with Agnus Cactus. I am so confused what I should take and shouldn't I google constantly looking for answers as I am desperate for some advice??? Has anyone had similar problems at my age and taken Agnus Cactus or Soya ?? I don'tt undersand how you take loads of vits etc then just stop when you get pregnant surley ur body will then just have a huge slump from vits, hormones etc.

I am desperate for any advice as plan to try again April I even bought some natural progestrone cream but haven't used it. I kinda think I am taking too much oh I'm having acupunture on Wednesday too. God I am going round the bend. This is the most traumatic thing I have ever been through and am scared time iss running out :0(.

Look frw to hearing from you soon !!! x kelly

I am 37 and will have my baby after turning 38. I say go for it. Get off of everything except your multivitamin. You may want to take some calcium too. Those other things may be harmful to the baby and could cause miscarriage. Its all I was taking when I got pregnant.

Don't lose hope, I'm sure you'll geta good result and stop worrying too much, basically relax let nature take its course. Trust in God if its bound to happen it will, no matter what the doctors say. I'm 40 and pregnant after 8 years. My first born is 8 years old, I was trying for the past 3 years, went to the fertility clinics, had clomid cycles, one laproscopy for endometriosis, 2 IUI cyles which were pretty strong but no luck, the doctor suggested IVF but I dropped the idea because its too expensive. But God willing I found a naturopath, who prescribed some herbal medicines and I conceived naturally. I pray that everything goes smoothly and I have a safe delivery with a healthy baby.Ameen!

If you indeed have a luteal phase defect, progesterone supplements after ovulation is usually the treatment.  To get a diagnosis you need a 21 day progesterone test.  Good luck.

THank you so much.

I haven't had the test they won't test me until I have had 3 miscarriages!! I have changed Dr's and she said that I should just go for ita and not too worry, I can go to the early pregnancy clinic who can check my hormone levels and suppliment me. I was going to go private but my new Dr feels I should just try, so try I will. I have tried taking my basal temp every morning but everyday it different looks like a roller coaster and my cycle is 25 days this months 32 last 28 before so kinda hard to keep track of whats going on. I am trying to track when I ovulate seems pretty soon after my period which isnt ood. How any days are you supposed to get the egg whites for ??  find it all so confusing. Its not good to ovulate too near your period so I read does any one understand the luteal phase "defect" ? I think I may stop the agnus cactus etc as my cycle gone too short now. Anyway thanks everyone it's so great to have support and people who have been through the same thing xx

Hi i am 37 and just had a baby girl feb 21st after being told by two drs i was in early menopause and by an ob that she couldnt help either.  I finally found a good RE who said she could help and after vitamins(folic acid, fish oil, b complex, calcium, vitamin d, vitamin e) surgery for endometriosis, a polyp, cysts, and a d&c for too thick lining, and finally 1 cycle of injectible meds, here we are with a beautiful healthy little girl.  With the right dr, its def. possible.  You may be over doing it with all the stuff you are taking, try the simple approach first.  Have you had any fertility tests done?  Fsh and amh to check egg quality and quantity, day 21 progesterone to see how well you ovulate unmedicated, an ultrasound of your uterus and ovaries to check for abnormalities and your lining, are all good starters.  Then if you have had all of those you can add other things to your list of supplements, until then just go with the basics that I listed above unless you are told you have problems with other things. But you should coordinate all of this with ur dr. Just a few suggestions  Good luck to you.

Hi there,

I'm 42 and after 2 m/c's my 8 month old son is sitting beside me now sucking on his fist.  I conceived all three times naturally.  Do not give up hope - its not an easy journey for some but, know there are also many happy endings.

I've been in your shoes so I know its hard not to - esp. with the biological clock screaming in your head -  but TRY not to over think it too much - eg. what to take, what not to take etc...  The times that I conceived was when I thought "whatever - if it happens it happens" - relaxed me a bit.

The third pregnancy I took low dose aspirin and I don't know if it made a difference but, hey, I had a successful pg.  Talk to your doctor about it first before taking it - and anything else you are taking.

When I found out about my second m/c - I had asked my OB if I was too old. He told me that his "maturest" patient was 53 so I had another good 10 years to squeeze out a half dozen.  Don't listen to the naysayers - it is possible. All it takes is one good egg and one good swimmer.

Good luck to you ( and you wakejl )  - hope to hear some good news from you both soon.  SSBD showering upon you girls.

Thank you for your reply!! and the best of  luck with your pregnancy!!! I have everything crossed for you!! It has given me some hope but like you I am very frightened. Think I am going to go for it and just try to hope for the best, it almost feels like russian roullete whether a good egg will be fertilised or not!! so I am preying a good one drop :).

I am 42 years old, and we conceived without help this past summer, when I was 41. This was after several doctors had given us a 2% chance of conceiving without fertility drugs. Unfortunately, I miscarried at 7 weeks, but now I am pregnant again after 5 cycles of Chlomid. You can do it! BTW, I didn't use any special supplements, just calcium, fish oil, and folic acid every day.
Good Luck!
p.s. I am almost 6 weeks along, and I'm terrified that something will go wrong again. So far, so good.
