Tanning while pregnant

I have a friend who is 16 weeks along and still tans. We go to the same OB and I was told not too tan at all. My friend said she told her it was ok. What do you ladies think? I'd rather be safe than sorry

I reamed my friend a new one and told her that I was just concerned for her little peanut:) I honestly don't know what she was thinking!

When you tan in a tanning bed,  you continue to cook hours after you get out, it is so NOT GOOD to tan while pregnant,  I cannot believe she is doing that. I had a friend who told me a story about a girl who was going to different beds a day to tan for prom and she ended up cooking her Insides and died from it.  True or not IDK, 100%.  Tanning while pregnant,  makes me sad....

I agree..not something I would do either.

People will justify the things they want to do.  You did the right thing going with your Dr.'s advice.  Congrats on your pregnancy!

I called my OB and she confirmed that tanning is a big fat NO:) I think my friend was mad that I asked but I knew she was lying. I guess some people are more vain than others. It's on her if her baby has issues from tanning. Thanks ladies:)

I think as long as her core temp doesn't get too high it should be fine. Some Obs are more conservative than others.

My ob allways told me natural sun is best and perfectly fine  but no tanning beds at all.
