I got it when I went in for my glucose test. So bebe_looby, you should be fine
They gave me my Tdap at 27 weeks. All I had was a sore arm.
Noooooo you can get it anytime after I think 30 weeks, up until you get ready to leave the hospital. Somebody is trying to be lazy and lied to you @lidilou
I was told that I could only get the Tdap up until 36 weeks. After that time I would get it in the hospital after birth. You may want to check with your doctor.
I'm 26 weeks. We go next week for my glucose test. Is it too late for me to get the vaccine at that time? I would like hubby to get one also.
I got mine and the hubby will be getting his in a couple of weeks. When I spoke to my doctor she said anyone that will be around the baby frequently and overnight. So the Grandparents are getting one, since I don't think they will leave until he enters grade school. I only had a sore arm. Other then that it was like the flu shot.
I believe in vaccines. The Tdap keeps your baby from getting pertussis/whooping cough. It can be deadly to babies and toddlers. I've been in the medical field for 10 years and there will always be someone somewhere that will have a reaction to it. Just like some people are allergic to peanuts, you can be allergic to vaccines. I had no ill effects from the shot it's self other than a soar arm. Which is perfectly normal.
Don't feel weird. It's your baby. Either they get it or they can't visit your baby. Can you tell me about how you felt about the shot please. I'm scared to take it
