Tracking Ovulation

I am trying to conceive and just bought an ovulation kit. However, I started spotting on Feb. 3 and continued to only spot for 8 days. Also, at some points throughout each day, there wasn't anything at all. Now all day today, the 11th, I had nothing, but now at 8:30pm I am spotting again. How am I supposed to know when to start testing for ovulation if I don't know if this is even a real period? I've had NO blood flow at all. Today was the actual day I should have started my period. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative, that is why I went and bought an ovulation kit. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I know how you feel, it does suck. Well, last night I checked my ovulation and the test line is getting darker, but still not as dark as the control line. I still didn't bleed at all and there is no more spotting. However, after intercourse There was a little spotting with streaks of red, just at that one moment, then nothing. I hope that isn't a bad thing.That doesn't usually happen. Good luck to you and thank you for the birthday wish. *40*  YUCK!! See, Today is 5 or 6 dpo for me and BAM, there's the spotting. In fact, I think you could even consider this light bleeding. Such a pain in the butt! I do have an appt scheduled to talk about it.  The s u c k y thing for me is I will do this until my period comes, ugh, the 25th! Anyways, good luck to you and Happy birthday!

Thanks for the help. I started the kit based on the spotting as a period, the lines are getting darker, so tonight or tomorrow may be good days to try. Kinda cool too because today is Valentine's Day and tomorrow is my Birthday, what two better days to try to make a baby...lol!  Wish me luck.

YOu're like me, I spot for no reason mid cycle. What I do, is watch  your signs. After your AF (period) around day 11 start monitoring your CM (cervical mucus) It gets egg-white and stretchy a few days before ovulation occurs. Usually a kit will contain 5-7 tests. I would recommend testing in the afternoon. I'm on a 28 day cycle and usually ovulate on day 14. For some reason last month it was day 15 and this month day 12. So, read the box and it will help you figure out the length of your period and when it's best to test for you. Good luck!
