Tubal Ligation

I had a Tubal Ligation done on March 21, 2002. That was the day my daughter now 7 yrs old was born. They did a C-Section for my daughter's delivery also the same day and time they did my Tubal Ligation surgery. Last week I felt like something moving on my left side of my abdomen, and also I've been having discharge from both of my breast on one side is I get clear liquid than on the other side. I went to the doctors and they did a urine pregnancy test and it came back negative they sent me for a mammogram and an ultrasound for my breasts and they also sent me for blood work which I wont know the results until the 24th of this month (July). I suppose to see my period on the 18 of July which is around the corner. I had sexual intercourse with my boyfriend of almost 3 years on April 7, 2009 before he left out of state to work. I have days where I'm moody, constatntly go to the bathroom without drinking lots of fluid sleep alot during the day and up during the night loss of appetite. I love my coca-cola soda and I also lost interest in that (which is funny because for both of my kids when i came out pregnant I automatically stopped drinking my coca-cola. Now my qestion is...Can this be true about being pregnant after 7 years of having a Tubal Ligation? Please can someone with similiar experience let me know if this is true or not. Thank You and GOD BLESS .

Anything is possible, however it is not very likely.    In all honesty, the only way to know for sure is too take a pregnancy test.  Good luck.

Yes, It is possible to become pregnant after tubal ligation surgery.  I became pregnant at 36, just about a year ago after having this surgery done 7 years ago.  We lost our baby  at around 10 weeks possibly due to low progesterone.  I'm now waiting to see if I could be pregnant again, but need to wait a few more days to see if I miss my period and/or do a pregnancy test.

Feel free to contact me.

I'm very, very doubtful that you're pregnant - it's extremely rare (I can't emphasize that enough) for a tubal of that long fail although not completely unheard of.  That being said, I think your doctor should conclusively rule out pregnancy by doing a blood test other than a urine if he hasn't done so already.  I also think they should do a pelvic u/s as well.

Your symptoms could mean anything like some kind of hormonal imbalance.  It's difficult to say - you could go to the expert forum & ask the gynecologist his opinion.  I believe they charge $22 (or something like that) to ask but it probably would be worth it.
