I was a 12 pre=prego. I am having trouble fitting into my 14's now. I def have a belly!! When I wear gym pants you can really see it. My wok clothes hold itin but when I unbuckle them- belly pops out. I am going to graduate into maternity clothes this eek- can't take it anymore- so uncomfy!
hint: get some shirts that have sayings on them like "baby love", "expecting greatness", etc.... My favorite is one I found that has tweety bird on it and says "my Lovely Baby Bump" kids get a big kick out of me wearing that one!ha ha! That way noone has to guess.
The new style of shirts makes it easier to find maternity type clothes, yet makes it harder to tell who is pregnant, I had that problem all summer. I am 37 weeks now so I don't have to highlight anything, can't hide it if I wanted to!! ha ha!
I was a 16 before, and would have to say didn't look pregnant til probably 4th month. Was still getting the "oh, I wasn't sure so did not want to say anything" from people, how embarrassing!! I could not wait to look "PREGNANT" instead of just looking "FAT".
p.s. thanks for the comment on the skin tags, helped me feel better.
ooo by the way I'm currently 19 weeks and a day! Due May 7th!
I was a size 14/16 with a bit of a jelly belly and to me I started to show as early as my 9th week, I started to bust out of my pants the zipper woulnd't zip as comfortable as before so I bought my first pair of maternity pants, and lord that was lovely, can just let the belly hang out:) LOVIN IT!
I don't think I look too different, but i can deffinately feel the difference in my clothes. Only elastic waists for me now (15w3d)
Well, i was size 8-10, but Im a big girl height-wise also! I'm 5'10" so, not showing much and doctor is actually happy with my 'growth', he said us 'big girls' (and tall) will show later than small, pettite ones, since baby has more room to expand upwards..... and then it'll expand to the front..., add that a retroverted uterus.... so, I don't know if i'll look like a preggo or like Cuasimode from the 'Hunchback of Notradame'!!!! lol
Oh well, no one knows at work either and im almost 5 months! lol.... i also wear layers of clothes since it's too cold in the office!!!
oh no am I a bigger girl at size 14?? I thought I was just average hahaha.... ok well not skinny but not a big girl either... I am showing at 15w but I had to buy maternity pants the regular pants just held me in... I could stll fit into the size 14 calvin kliens but once I got maternity pants it freed up my belly to stick out....
HA HA HA you girls make me laugh. I'm kinda bummed. I have same work pants on and I am 16w5d. No one knows I'm preggo. I don't really feel it until after dinner. I love to wear built in bra maternity tank tops & I have been wearing maternity t-shirts. I swear, they are the same size just freakin longer. Now it's a game...how long until I have to tell people at work, hee hee
With my dd I carried high, and stayed that way as she was breech, so I never got that low pg bulge and always looked fat. When I was 8 months a temp at work said "oh you're pg, I though you were fat". I must admit, as excited as I am to be pg again, I am hoping people will take me as pg and not fat. To make it worse a woman this weekend said to me "congrats, I hear u r pg, I was wondering if you were pg or fat" I am 10 weeks, go figure.
Thanks cpatow and renogirl... I guess at work they'll just think I'm the "big" girl who doesn't know how to dress. LOL :)
Our company is in transition/merger, so announcing a pregnancy probably isn't well timed, it sounds like the extra pound will help! Reno girl--28wks good for you, take care.
not to be discouraging - but I didn't really start showing until recently (we are 28wks 4d) and even still - I think most people look at me and wonder if I'm fat or pregnant - but I'm also larger then you starting out - good luck
I'm in your same boat. Was size 8-10 with first two and now 14-16. I'm 4 months and a) think I"m actually losing body fat because I'm eating so much better and b) finally showing. :0)
