i have a tilted uterus and i never had trouble conceiving.  i have 4 year old daughter my uterus got tilted after her delivery.  i conceived four times within the paast two years although using condoms and pills. just one miss and there it was.  and no remedies would work but the doctors abortion.  this year we planned to have another baby.  i was on yasmin pills for 8 months.  i quit on december 2007 and got pregnant in February 2008.  my doctor performed a scan this wednesday and said my baby's 12 weeks 2 days and is growing really fine.  so just chill, a tilted uterus doesn't cause miscarriages its natural and just happens if something was wrong in the embryo.  and it's not necessary that it would happen again.. i just want to make it clear that a tilted uterus doesn't cause miscarriages nor problems in conceiving.  and does'nt need to undergo any surgery it just gets back to its normal position once your baby starts growing inside it.

Mines is tilted and my sisters is as well. I don't know if this has to do with it. But when we go into labor we have what they call back labor.

Mine is tilted, didn't cause me problems with ttc.  I am on my 3rd baby, and the only problems I had was more back labor, and a little bit harder pushing.  Yes, with me anyway, even after birth, my uterus went back to the tilted position.  My doc said the only thing to permanently correct it would be surgery.

I also have a tilted uterus, but was told it would not be a problem with my pregnancy. I am currently 44yrs old pregnant 9 weeks 3 days with no prior pregnancies.

With my first two pregnancies I was seeing a fertility specialist and they did alot of scans and testing.  With the first one it was mentioned but kind of in passing so at the time it hardly registered with me. the second time the tech that noticed it made a bigger deal out of it and this third pg it also came up right away when I had a very early scan.  Maybe it's my interpretation but it seemed to become more pronounced with me with each successive pregnancy.  I kind of figured that I'm just getting looser and softer all over so it flops more than it used to.

I wondered with my son if it was a cause for my infertility problems, but the doctor never mentioned it and this pg happened with no help (except my hubby of course) so there you go.  It's probably like DML said, like being right or left handed.

honestly i dont know the answer to that question...i contacted the practice that delivered my son and they said they have no record of me having a tilted uterus and i started seeing them at 14 years old so they are pretty sure it happened after delivering my son...which i guess it can

im going to ask my doc about it too becuz now that im aware of the symptoms a lot of things make sense and if it goes back i may have to get the surgery to get it fixed

let me know what you find out...thanks

BTW....for those of you that do have a tipped uterus, that have already had a baby - does the uterus go back to its tipped position after the baby is born?
I was just wondering about that the other day, and was going to ask my Dr. at my next visit.

This is my first baby...just curious...

I have a tilted uterus also and I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow.
I never knew I had it until I became pregnant and had my first exam.  The Dr. told me that it very rarely is an issue because as the baby grows, the weight tips the uterus forward and into a "normal" postion.  Though they also referred to a tilted, tipped, or backward uterus (all the same thing..just different terms) as a "normal varient".

My Dr. said it's like saying someone is left handed instead of right handed.

Just recently my mom found out that she has a tilted uterus and she had 3 children.  She never knew it.  She went to her ob/gyn, which was new, and she told her.  I would say that it shouldn't stop you from having a successful pregnancy.  I've heard that it can make it harder for you to conceive but I don't know if this is true.  My mother did lose 3 pregnancies but most likely because of nothing to do with the uterus.
