could i be pregnant?

i am 46 yrs old, i had a tubaligation in 1991, i've had regular periods around the 10th-15th every month. i did not have a period in november then dec.15th spotted for 3 days then dec. 30th bled for 3 or 4 days not enough to fill a pad, was only there when i wiped. i had nausia and vomiting, frequent urination, headaches, backaches, dizziness and tired and just lack of energy and now my stomach is huge, i look like i could be 4 or 5 months pregnant! i've taken 2 home pregnancy tests but both did not show a result either way, could i be pregnant?

Well, pregnancy after tubal can happen, it's just not overly common. If you truly suspect this, you do need to see a Dr.  Pregnancy after tubal can on some occasions lead to etopic pregnancy, so proper monitoring is important.  Honestly, maybe just go to your Dr. and ask for a blood test to confirm or rule out pregnancy.  Best of luck to you.

Well, a home pregnancy test is either positive or negative.  So you are saying it was negative?  It's not possible for it to give an inconclusive answer.

I would say the chances of you being pregnant are almost nil.  Yes, in some cases women do conceive after tubal ligation, but it's pretty rare.  It sounds more like irregular periods which become more common in our mid to late 40's.  I am 43 and have the odd strange one now.  It's called perimenopause, and we can be in it for 10 years before full on menopause begins.

Symptoms are not a good way to determine pregnancy as they too can be caused by so many other things.

All that being said, it certainly is possible, and if this were me, I would probably have my Dr. perform a blood test.  I don't mean to be negative, just that a tubal ligation and 2 negative pregnancy tests make me suspect pregnancy is probably not the case.  All the best to you.
