depo shot...

Hello my name is Rosa. I got my first depo shot on may 9th, 2008 and now i regret it and me and my husband want to conceive and I need help as to what i should do to get depo out of my system and be able to conceive. I plan to go home for 3 weeks in august and we want to conceive then and my next shot is due from july26-aug 9 do you think I have time to get it out of my system by then?????Please I need your advice!!!

I was on Depo for years, and it does a great job of preventing conception.  Unfortuantely you really have to be off of it for 3 months. Sorry.  My Dr. actually took me off of it a year prior to us trying to conceive, but you shouldn't have to wait that long.  If you are due for your shot in July, then you should be able to TTC starting then.

i t wont get out of your system theres just no around it. You have to give it time to wear off and you have to get ur period again and starting ovulating. My SIL got 3 shots and it took her a year to get preggers; me i took it for 4yrs and now 5yrs later im still not pregnant!! It depends on the person but as soon as u get ur AF bk you should have a chance but u may want to start charting ur temps to be sure your ovulation is bk too.

Depo should be out of your system for 3 months before you try to concieve.
