does primrose oil really work to help ripen your cervix?

Why I ask is I'm 36wks and 5 days and my doc said I'm still have a closed cervix and still pretty long I've been trying to find ways to allow my body to help me with opening my cervix so I can Start the dialating process this is my 3rd child and it feels like I'm going slower than usual

I used it for two out of three pregnancies, all 3 had cervix ripen about the same but my two with epo I didn't tear. With my son the doctor said I stretched nicely...this one baby was face up and I had to get an episiotomy so not sure if I'd have torn without.

Side note: have you heard of hypnobabies? I used hypnobabies: baby come out and had great results but I also believe that sort of thing works and if you don't believe it will I don't think it would be as effective.

The only thing I heard that actually works is semen.
