first time mother!

Is it normal to be terrified not only of birth but failing as a parent? All I consume myself with is what if I do something wrong? What if I have problems during birth? What if I and/my baby dies? Some days I stress my self to the max with all the fears of becoming a mother. Am I the only one?

I'm having the same problems with anxiety. I'm about to become a mother for the first time at 40 and fear I'm too old, among many other things. I've been going to an acupuncturist to help with sciatica and she has been great in helping me deal with my anxiety too. So perhaps try some form of counceling or therapy. I'm sure you'll be a great mother...the fact that you're so concerned shows you care and will do your best, which is all anyone can do. Good luck x

It is perfectly normal to have these fears but don't let it consume u. Just worry abt u relaxing which is what the baby need right now. I'm sure that u will be doing something wrong as we all have but it's a learning process. U will learn from it n correct it. Ur natural mother instincts will help u do what u in ur hear n mind think is best for your child. But always remember that we are not perfect n we all make mistakes. I have 2 kids already n I still remember the 1st time my baby fell from the bed.. he was little. I just left him there n turned around to grab the wipes n he rolled over n hit the floor.. I felt like crap but I was more careful the next time. N then heard from different ppl that it happens often.
