Thank you. I got a hold of MELATONIN. And Monday going to start recommended dose - 3 mg a night. Simply to say, I'm doing experiment on myself, if it's really work, I'll let you know and maybe Melatonin is really way out for many of us, I still think about possabillities of pregnancy. it's been 2 weeks after my possible sudge and unprotected intercaurse, so I still have hope it could be pregnancy, even though Thuesday my pregnancy test was negative. In separated question I asked, how FSH changes during all pregnancy, who knows? Anyway, I'm ready for EXPERIMENT and hope it will work. The hope always dies last......    Reff. ab. RE is a Reproductive Endocrinologist...a doctor who specializes in fertility issues (FSH and LH are produced by the Endocrine system).

Best wishes for you.

Sorry, I'm not good in first letters only, like RE, I only know FSH, LH and HCG. Yes, I may try Chinise remedies, but where to get them? And where to ger any drugs if doctor refuse to prescribe them? I based in UK. Is WHEAT GRASS chinese as well? Today I talked to a lady, she isn't doctor, but did some reserch. She calmed me down a lot. She said that high FSH level does'n nesesary mean my ovaries fail, but got worse. She also said if I was very fertile in age of 40, it's unlikely that all over complectly in 7 y time. She said that even young women not get pregnant after 1 intercaurse in ovulation and many has high FSH and got pregnant with that or later. It really makes me happier. Jenkins, you have a chance as well according to her. Best luck to all!

I am 39, no children, TTC #1 since 2009, 3 m/cs between Oct 2009 and Sept 2010. I was told by my RE in the fall of last year that my FSH is "elevated" and my ovarian reserve is "borderline". I've been on fertility meds, both oral and injectible (failed) and tried IUI (failed). Although I really like my RE, the next step she told me is IVF, which I am trying to avoid if possible, so in March I moved on to fertility acupuncture and Chinese herbs as prescribed by my acupuncturist. I am currently at the end of my 2WW and waiting to test July 5th.  I love my acupuncturist and have never felt better.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbs may be something you may be interested in (since you mentioned you are interested in herbal remedies and not using donor eggs).

Best of luck!

Thank you for your responses. I calmed down a bit! Home FSH fest today showd below 25! But probably it's less reliable than blood test? I don't want with donor eggs, I have my 4 kids different ages. But I want OUR OWN child with my new man which happed to meet to late! 47 is not 27!  In another forum I heard ab MELATONIN, that it reduse FSH and thinking to try... If anyone came across pl let me know. And thank you for your surport

In addition to what adgal posted...

I've read that wheat grass can help.  There are anecdotal accounts of wheat grass improving FSH. If you are serious about having a baby, I recommend that you find a doctor who is more encouraging. Donor eggs are a good option although, since you are in Canada I understand the rules are slightly different there.

Well, it does sound like you are in perimenopause.  Having an LH surge does not mean you are ovulating for certain, just that your body is trying to.

Pregnancy does happen naturally in perimenopause at times, but in all truthfulness, your odds right now of getting pregnant and carrying to term are not all that great.  Sorry, I don't mean to be negative, but I do think it's important to be honest.  As far as I know there is no proven method of lowering fsh.  FSH is a testing of your ovarian reserve, and seeings how women do not produce more eggs (we get what we are born with), I am not a big believer in the homeopathic remedies found on line.  I know others will disagree with me, so please take that for what it's worth.  It is just my opinion.

The good news is there are options available to you.  If you really want to make this happen, I would recommend looking into IVF with donor eggs.  I know a few women who have done this successfully and are very happy they did.

In the meantime it sure doesn't hurt to keep trying with timed intercourse.  Certainly nothing is impossible.  Good luck to you.
