I went to the DR today and had an US and the gestational age showed as 6 weeks, but I should at least be 7, but more like 8. We absolutely know the date of conception (so it might be two days later that the baby was actually made)  However, according to LMP, I should be 8 weeks.  I am concerned. There is a heartbeat, but the baby is only showing around 6 weeks GA. Anyone else been through this type of situation? What are the chances of a normal pregnancy? Thanks

The date of conception does not always indicate age.  The fertilised egg needs 9-12 days before it implants so maybe you are counting the weeks from the time you and your DH conceived, but the measurements may be taken from implantation??

Well it could be a number of things, one of which is that the person doing the ultrasound was ever so slightly off in their measurements, it doesn't take much to affect an estimate of gestational age. I know on my first scan they put me as a full week earlier than what I believed it should be, but my baby is developing well and moving around like crazy, weight and size right on target (just had my second scan 16 1/2 weeks a couple of days ago). Was the heartbeat in a normal range? Did the doctor express any concern when you told them of your certainty re: date of conception?
