high blod pressure in first trimester

i have chronic hypertension and i'm currently taking labetalol 3x a day.. it s a category c and i heard its not safe in first trimester but okay in other trimesters.  was anyone on a blood pressure [ill when they
found they were pregnant and had to stay on it during the first trimester and if soo what was the pill and the outcome

I took hydroclorothyizide (sp) and when I got pg I switched to methyldopa also..

i am on labetalol 2X100 and 5 weeks prego.  they put me on that in case i did become prego and said it was safe.

I switched to methyldopa (aldomet) to control my bp before we started trying to conceive because it is considered safe during pregnancy.  I've had hypertension since I was 27 and had been on Coversyl Plus (which is a no no during pregnancy).  So far (knock on wood) I'm 28 weeks and my blood pressure has remained under control.

Methyldopa is catergory b
