induced

i got induced at 40 weeks and it didnt work, so now im going back in at 41 weeks. will getting induced the second time work better and go faster?

What did they use to try to induce you? When I went in for an induction, I was admitted to the hospital. They started with the gel (which worked!) and would have added a Pitocin drip if my labor hadn't started on its own. I've never heard of an out patient induction.

Some hospitals (like the one I did my maternal child nursing rotation in) don't use the gel unless the cervix is really unprepared (in which case they use misoprostol rather than the progesterone gel that I was given 19 years ago when I had my son). Instead, they just start the Pitocin drip from the get go and mama stays in hospital until after baby is born.

im not sure about induction but as far as i know you get 2 lots of gel and if that does not work you get a drip because its stronger. i think it works for some, and not for others. good luck with your induction! (again)
