morning sickness/lower libido?

hello ladies! just a quick question - hoping you can share your thoughts on this.

ever since morning sickness kicked in (as well as tiredness, bloating, gas, heartburn, tender breasts, keen sense of smell :( ) i haven't felt amorous in the least. my partner and i have always had a pretty regular sex life, but now i just don't seem to want to have sex at all.  he is very understanding but i feel kind of awful.

i am also taking diclectin for the morning sickness - that's where the drowsiness comes in, i think.

i'm hoping this is only going to last as long as my morning sickness (fingers crossed) - i am almost month away from the end of my first trimester. in my first pg 15 yrs ago, i had no morning sickness so i have nothing to compare it to.

with my dd i was without my dh for most of my pg (he was in the navy and on deployment) so needless to say when he came back i was 7 months and our sex life was spectacular! lol

this time around, well i wish i were able to say i wanted it more.  sure when i have energy but then at bedtime im just wanting to sleep.  poor dh!! its sad too, it seems he is just in love with my pg body.  he is all over me all the time lol.

I am with the majority here! I did not have sex my entire pregnancy with both my boys. At first I was to afraid of causing any harm. (I had already suffered from a MC) Then after the fear went away I was sick, tired and felt huge.....did I mention tired!! : ) My Morning Sickness lasted the entire time for both my pregnancies. My OB put me on Zofran which did help a lot but I still always felt kind of blah!

Here I am 8 months later after my son Cruz and I still do not have a drive yet. I think part of it was do to breastfeeding but who knows! Our poor hubbies!!!!!

Just give yourself time to adjust to your new body and I am sure everything will fall into place!!!!!

whats sex??? haha, sorry:~( My youngest is almost 8 months and I still have no intrest and I had the worst morning sickness with her ever!! My only girl out of 4 too, go figuar. Anyways I had no intrest in sex during my last pregnancy , maybe because my morning sickness never really left:~And also becuase I had 3 other boys and my youngest was only 3 months old when I found out I was pregnant again:~( Anyways Im sure once you start feeling better your "drive" will increase!!

I also had no desire to have sex while pregnant. I have heard other women say their sex drive increased though...(lucky women!!) My little guy is now almost 11 weeks old, and I still don't...maybe when he starts sleeping through the night...lol.

Same here.  I'm too nauseous, tired, headachy, sore and crabby to even think about sex... plus the first 3 weeks I was spotting off and on.  My DH was making a lot of hints, so I looked him in the eye and said "I'm nauseous, exhausted, in pain and bleeding, and you want me to feel sorry for you?"  As I recall, as soon as the 2nd trimester kicked in, low libido was no longer a problem.

I am just about 13 weeks and "all" I have left of the morning sickness is a grose taste in my mouth. From week 6 to 11 there was NO way I could even lift my head from the pillow let alone think of sex! As for my husband he made little comments here and there trying to make light out of the situation...but was very understanding. Now? Sex is better than before...for me :o). Once the morning sickness is gone everything is just so much more enjoyable.

that's what i was suspecting...it's just been a long time since i've been in this state, and i've never dealt with morning sickness before. this symptom will pass too, in time.

With my 1st pg (9 yrs ago!) I had terrible morning sickness and VERY tired from I think 6 wks to about 10 or so and low libido during that time. Mainly because you're too tired and sick to think about it! But then.... my libido came back with a vengeance! I wouldn't worry. The meds may have something to do with it but I think it is more than likely just the early preg. adjustments and will pass. I know everyone is different but I wouldn't worry too much. There will be alot of changes and you wont feel the same at all throughout the pregnancy. Good luck.
