Pink - my baby suffered a lot from colic.  We finally figured out one of the reasons - it was overstimulation as tabitha said.  We changed what he was exposed to as far as noise, light, sounds, etc.  I could tell when No-No was getting overstimulated finally - I could see him getting worked up.

Have you read a book called "The Happiest Baby on the Block"?  That saved my life as it taught how to soothe a colicky baby.  I wish your doctor would listen to you about what your concerns.  If you're not comfortable with her, definitely change.  Most pediatricians rely on a mother's intuition if she feels something's wrong with her baby.

I hope things get better soon - one more thing - you can go to this website - www.happiestbabyon the block.com - that'll give you even more info - bless your heart, I know what you're going through.  Let me know if there's anything more I can do to help.

Both of my boys had colic something terrible!!  In each of their cases, switching to soy helped tremendously.  Sheri is right, it takes a little time.  Some children are also allergic or sensitive to soy.  There are other options.  Definately change doctors if you hate this one and fee he/she won't listen to you.  It is imperative to be able to communicate with you baby's doctor.  Sheri is right here as well, you know that something is wrong, don't let your Dr. undermine your confidence.

I wouldn't go to the ER unless it is truly an emergency.  If your daughter is in danger of losing her life, has difficulty breathing or is showing signs of dehydration, the ER is appropriate.

Also, many parents don't know much about the sensory system.  It could be that you daughter has an unusual sensory system and is reacting to some kind of stimuli that you need to change for her.  For example, some babies are extremely bothered by too much light, too much noise, not enough physical stimuli, and so on.  I know that many parents don't want to coddle their babies too much and see changing the environment to better suit their babies as 'spoiling' them.

However, look up sensory integration disorder and you will be better able to judge for yourself whether or not your daughter needs more help managing the environmental stimuli that her body is experiencing.

Good luck to you.  Colic is really trying but you can do it!  Take breaks when you need them and get away here and there.  :)  :)

I'm not sure what Prosobee is, but try Soy formula if Prosobee isn't Soy.  My son was like that and until I got him off the milk, he screamed non-stop.  After a day or two on the Soy formula, he was a totally different baby!  It does take just a little time for that lactose to clear the system and the Soy to kick in though, so don't give up on it if it doesn't work the first day.

Also, if you don't like your pediatrician, switch to another! I learned the hard way that you really have to fight to get them to listen to you sometimes.  I guess they think everyone is an overprotective mother, but someones we KNOW when there is something wrong!
