nausea suddenly gone

The last 10 days or so, I have had extremely intense nausea-- so bad that I couldn't work or really even move around very much. It would last pretty much 24/7. Yesterday it started to diminish, and as of this morning, I really don't feel sick at all. I am somewhere between 8.5 and 9 weeks pregnant. Needless to say I'm really upset. I had a good cry already. I tried to talk to DH about it but of course, he says I'm worrying over nothing, and that I should think positive and just focus on what I do want and not what I don't want.
So I guess I will keep my fears from him until I have more information.
I am going to wait until Tuesday to go in and check for a heart beat, because tomorrow is DH's birthday.

I keep telling myself that maybe my placenta just took over a bit on the early side.
I know that at about 7 weeks, my HCG levels were REALLY good, 83,000 and then 143,000 a few days later. From what I've read, HCG is what keeps the corpus luteum going and tells it to keep producing progesterone. So I am at a total loss as to why this would be happening to me.

Has anyone suddenly seen their morning sickness go away at about 9 weeks? Or should I assume that this is probably not a good sign?

Now that I've had a good cry, I am actually feeling quite resigned. I guess I just feel like whatever will be, will be, and there is nothing that working myself up will do to change that.

I was also convinced at 6.5 weeks that the baby wasn't progressing, and at that point I turned out to be wrong, so I just don't know what to think. I guess time will tell.

Congrats on your pg!  My RE did tell me to take my bbt everyday thru my 1st tri. cause a sudden drop would likely indicate another m/c. She was right, it did. I also read up on it and in a few articles it says you should continue to take your bbt everyday till your out of your 1st tri as a heads up for any problems and possible m/c's. So, @ least you know you can still check and hopefully be able to wake up everymorning knowing everything is going good!  F.Y.I.  If you do by chance have a day where your temp isn't regular, dont freak out yet cause like everything else in the world nothing is perfect all the time and sometimes our body or just the way we take the temp can cause a irregular reading. If it stays low...then there could be a prob and want to call your RE.  At least, this is the info my RE told me.  I hope this helps you getting thru each day a little easier.   Kim

Everyone, thank you so much for your comments. I have read them over many times and they are helping to calm me down. I realize that my rational brain is not dominant here. When I m/c in April it was right at 9/10 weeks, so to suddenly lose symptoms at this point scared the heck out of me. The first trimester is crazymaking! (Well, at least it is for someone already prone to anxiety and with a recent loss.)

I had two complete days off then vomited again out of nowhere last night. Today I seem to be back on the nausea train. Unlike April, where my symptoms vanishing did precede a m/c.

I am actually starting to get it through my head that this is a NEW pregnancy, and that it has as much chance of being successful as it would if I had never miscarried in the past.

Thank you again for bearing with me. I look forward to feeling better, and getting back to yoga, which I normally rely on for maintaining balance. I am grateful that I can post here among people who have been through/are going through similar experiences & emotions.

Hi hun, don't worry so much. My symptoms started to ease up around 9 weeks. I was nausiated 24/7 from 5.5 weeks til about 9 weeks or so. After nine weeks I had mostly smells that would make me sick and I was gagging lots but I am 16 weeks now and over the last 3 weeks I have felt like I am not pregnant at all and it worried me at times but thank God for my fetal heartrate monitor it helps me to relax alittle more. CONGRATS on your pregnancy!!!

I never really had symptoms during this pregnancy- the one thing I had were sore breast and the feeling of being full.  Around 8-9 weeks suddenly it all went away for aprox. 2 days.  Of course I freaked out because that was my only way of knowing that I my baby was alive and growing.  Every time I went to the bathroom I'd look in my panties hoping not to find blood.  Thank GOD, no blood or cramps and as suddenly as the symptoms were  gone, they came back with a new twist... heartburn. I've never had anything much more than that.  I believe you are fine and hubby is RIGHT.  Think positive.  Your baby has to give you a couple of days off so you can rejuvenate and have the strength to get the next round of excitement and worry.

Try not to worry too much ( IK it's hard not to!) I've been pg 6x's.  My 3 pregnancies w/my kids, I had very  VERY little "symptoms"  NEVER was sick, or threw up..NEVER! got a tiny bit of heart burn, but not really. The main thing was I got headaches off n on, & my npp.'s were sore, but not super bad.  I actually felt pretty good.  W/ 2 of my mc's I had nothing.  With my last pregnancy, I mc'd in Feb. I had the MOST symptoms I've ever had!
BAD heartburn, BAD BAD BAD SORE RAW npp.'s HEAD ACHE, STARVING!  A bit nausiated.  & around 10 weeks I started to feel better, BUT I still had bad heartburn.  I had a missed mc @ 11 weeks :(
So pregnancy symptoms are NOT a good indication of a good pregnancy.
Call your Dr in the am, & TRY not to worry too much.  Hang in there, I'm sure things will be just fine.

Ah the mind games continue. I can only re-iterate what others have said, that symptoms vary and don't mean much. Maybe try and take your temperature. Mine dropped around the time I reckon my miscarriage started (not sure if this is just an early symptom though). Also I got acne and headaches indicating hormone levels dropping. Try to keep calm, resigned is good as at least it's  not anxious and blood pressure raising. I think resigned is a good sign that you have lots of pregnancy hormones still whizzing around keeping you calm.
Thinking of you and hoping you keep your spirits up.

I had my first scan at 14 weeks and seriously thought they would say "you've never been pregnant you stupid woman" that's how few symptoms I had.

congrats on your pregnancy!! your symptoms (or lack there of) are totally totally normal!!   I am 29 weeks and sick as a dog almost daily stil, however back when i was 6-12 weeks, i'd have those days where i'd wake up and all my symptoms totally gone, for as long as three days in a row- after many miscarriages it of course freaked me out! but everythig has been fine, and man three days of not throwing up sounds amazing right now!:)
Also, my RE wanted to take me off of progesterone at 7.5 weeks.. they are actually showing with new research that the placenta does take over around the 7.5 week mark, (as opposed to the previously thought 10-12 weeks) so now they are taking people off their progesterone supplements cold turkey that early.. so it makes perfect sense for symptoms to start waning at that time too! :)    GOOD LUCK!!! and congrats! happy healthy nine months!

Yes, I did mean an ultrasound to check for a heartbeat, I didn't make that clear. I'd be too nervous to try doppler this early.

I really, really hope that you are right and that I am just enjoying a day off. That would be so wonderful. I do not have any bleeding or cramping. I am going to cling to the possibility that everything *could* be just fine.

I will call the doctor tomorrow and see when I can get in.

I wish that I had insisted upon progesterone supplementation, just to better my odds.

If I make it to 12 weeks I will definitely be renting a doppler.

I know it's scary whenever there is a sudden change like that.  Try to remember that symptoms alone are not a good indicator as to whether or not a pregnancy is safe.  With this pregnancy I had 24/7 nausea for weeks, then days I would wake up with literally not a single symptom.....breasts felt fine, no nausea.  Then they would come back in full force.  It scared me at the time, but now I look back and consider those days "days off".  Around 10 weeks they really started to diminish and by 12 or 13 weeks I basically didn't feel pregnant at all.  It's like that now...if it wasn't for my belly I would feel completely normal.  However, my doppler and 4 u/s tell me things are fine.

The challenge with going in to check for a heartbeat by doppler is that at this stage they will not always pick it up yet.  That can cause even more stress and worry.  For me personally, logic didn't seem to apply much during first trimester (or even now).  It's hard not to think the worse.  You would be better to have an ultrasound.  Call your Dr. tomorrow and see if one can be arranged.  I think most are pretty understanding, and know that to sit there and worry is not a happy thing for us.  In the meantime, try to enjoy what is probably a "day off" for you.  I am betting all is just fine, especially if you aren't bleeding or cramping badly.  The end of that first trimester is just around the corner!!!  Hang in there hon.
