possible twins?

Hi, I have a question regarding my beta level. My first beta was 705 (14 dpfet) and then 48 hours later my second beta was 2480. Do you think is there a chance to have twins? Or is this a good beta for single pregnancy ( I heard second beta suppose to be 2x higher and it looks like it is 4x higher then first beta). I had two embryos trf . I am 38 1/2 YO.

Today was my first u/s. I am so happy and relived. We saw TWO sacks. Yes, yes it looks like we are going to have twins!!! I was so worried for the last week. I know I should not stress and worry but it is so hard when I want everything to be ok. My DH and I were waiting for this for 17 years. Thank you God and thank all of you for your support. Next week we are hoping to hear two heart beats... I am so emotional right now. Please keep me in your prayers. I wish you all the best and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was once pregnant with twins (natural pregnancy) and yes my hcg at 4-5 weeks had tripled over 48 hours. I quickly gained weight in the belly and had a lot of reflux from the beginning, I had a feeling I was pregnant with twins - unfortunately I miscarried both of them later.

There is really no way to know because the range of #'s so wide.
There is a girl on here now that I believe is pregnant with twins & her #'s were very similar to yours.  432, 2175 & then 4917
It def sounds good to me though............So excited for you.

I will just put ditto marks around what Court said.  It's always a possiblity, especially if you had 2 transferred, but HCG levels are really not the best indicator.  Your first ultrasound will give you your answer!!  Congrats on your pregnancy and all the best to you!!

Congrats! Good numbers for a single pregnancy!  The high rate of doubling rarely has anything to do with twins from what I have read (my baby's father is a twin and that was my fear as well)...but you COULD have twins!!!
Good luck!
