To decrease the risk of down syndrome if you are wanting a baby age 47 donor egg is the best way to decrease these odds. My wife is 13 weeks pregnant after donor ivf.   She is 47. She had her 3 rd scan last week and her risk is 1-18000.  Hope this helps.   It also depends on the donor age.

Your risk of Down Syndrome based on age is about : 1:25 or about %4 only based on age.

hopefully to ease your mind, My risk is 1:100 %1, I am 23 my firstborn was born with down syndrome.

if you have any questions about downs please visit the down syndrome board on the site and ask Sandi (Dragon) who's the moderator or you can mssg me.

I am 42 and had a TR 10 months ago tried ivf no success so aleast I have more chances now without paying no extra cost. But with any one we choose there is a low percentage rate but if you believe any thing is possible through crist.

Honestly I don't know anything about tubal's or IVFs or even downs syndrome, but I did want to tell you something that I saw happen in my doctors office yesterday.

I was in one of the rooms waiting and all of a sudden I heard a scream coming from the ultrasound room. Well apparently an older woman who is 52 years old was having issues, well they thought....so they ordered an ultrasound only to find she was pregnant!!! And you had her tubes tied when she was only 29 yrs old! So it is sooo possible!

I would probably call your doc and go in for a visit to discuss it! Good luck!

Less then 2% is what research shows but EVERY woman is different and the possibility of pregnacy depends on more factors than just age. This percentage is for women over 42 with a successful tubal reversal.
