Just read your post. What did you decide to do this time? I had an endometrial ablation done a little over a year ago and just found out im pregnant. I too was advised to have an abortion. I am only 5 weeks so I have to wait a week. My ob didnt even request to see me. I ended up contacting a specialist that deals with high risk pregnancies for a second opinion. Im now waiting for a phone call to set up an appt. If they do an ultrasound and recommend the same thing then ive accepted the fact ill have to terminate. Just didnt want to do it without at least being seen. Let me know how you made out.
Thanks

I am 38 years old and am pregnant for the 2nd time after having had an endometrial ablation in 2002.  The first time, I was strongly advised to terminate the pregnancy.  I was 5 months along, saw my baby on ultrasound (and have a picture), and was devastated to tell my two children we would not be able to have the baby after-all.  I'm not sure I ever got over it, but as a catholic, I even saw my priest who advised that if the pregnancy put my own life at risk, termination was the only answer.  This time, however, I feel even more strongly that the fact that there is a baby in me seems to be a gift from God himself.  Is it really only possible to determine the extent of the risks in the last trimester?  And do we not have even so much as ONE happy ending from a case such as mine?  Isn't there ONE happy mother out there who knew the risks, took them, and wound up with a perfectly healthy baby?  Please tell me yes.

I too have had no periods since my ablation at the beginning of 2007.  I have three children and was told twice by the consultant and again by the gp that this op is only suitable if you have completed your family as won't be able to have more children.  My periods stopped.  THis christmas felt sick, now being sick.  DId pregnancy test - positive.  Did two over the counter tests and one doctors.

I'm sure if you were pregnant that a hpt would detect it, but I highly doubt that you are being that you haven't had a period. Do you know how dangerous it would be for you and your baby should you get pregnant? I hope you are taking all the precautions necessary to not let this happen.
