Does sex really help labor?  Nd everytime we have sex why does my lower stomach always hurt real bad wen were doe?

With my first my dr said to me "if we told you sex was safe through your entire pregnancy, why would it suddenly start labor? If sex was proven to help you dilate or start labor we would have told you no sex for the past 40weeks. It's an old wives tale."

The sperm helps to soften the cervix not the baby lol

First Time Mommy - is not true because the sperm/semen never actually touches the baby.  The baby is protected inside of the amniotic sac and the sperm doesn't penetrate the sac.  If your water has already broken,  then you shouldn't be having sex (risk of infection). So don't worry,  sex isn't harmful to baby.

This is something i heard dont know if its true but i heard if you have sex alot and the guy cums in you everytime your baby can come out blinde is it true or a rumor???

I had sex last night I had been contracting all day and after we had sex my contractions got more intense and my mucus plug came out with blood im 40w+2days

I had sex with my husband last night after 2 months of no sex and after we were done I was contracting and it was painful !!! I'm 32+1... now I'm OK no pain but I think no more sex for me til she's born !!!

Well I wasn't dilating and I'm 38+5 days, and I had sex with my finance the last two mornings to see if it would help any? And I just had my dr appt an hour ago and I'm now dilated to 1cm and 50 effaced(: hopefully it will progress, but good luck to you, it can't hurt to try and see if it helps(:

The sperms softens the cervix and if you orgasm while having sex it causes contractions which can help stimulate labor and cause you to dilate.
