subchorionic hematoma

Has anyone here experienced subchorionic hematoma and can give me some words of advice?  I have been bleeding very heavily for over 24 hours.  Every time I go to the bathroom I fill the toilet with blood and clots.  I was 100% certain I had a m/c.  This morning I had an u/s (to confirm m/c) and to my surprise the baby is still doing OK and measuring at exactly 7 weeks (which is where I am today).  We still saw the heartbeat.  But next to gestational sack, we saw a HUGE hematoma that looked larger than the gestational sack.  Has anyone here had subchorionic hematoma that resolved itself??  Just looking for some hope...

Thanks again for the info.  I am spotting red and have some light bleeding but not the full flow I had two days before.  I just hope that the blood clot bleeds out and resolves itself.  I have been having this spotting/bleeding for 2 weeks now and I feel so emotionally tired.  Why can't I have a boring pregnancy??  Ugggrrr...
We haven't had sex since we started ivf and probably will not have any for many more weeks...

my bleeding was heavy for a weekend and then slowed down thereafter.  i did NOTHING.  Well, I cried.  I had spotting and some brown stuff come out after the heavy bleeding.  I don't remember how long but it was right around the time I miscarried the time before that.  I think I sat still for two weeks.  I did not have sex until I was around 16 weeks pregnant and I had spotting at that point.  We stopped sex until after 20 weeks.  Like I said, he came out perfect but it was a very scary pregnancy.  How are things today?

Not sure if this is the same as a subcorionic bleeding (I think it is). I was diagnosed at 6/7 weeks but nothing more happened (ie. bleeding; knock on wood). It is "common" and as long as they monitor it and do u/s, etc. you'll be fine. Usually it's just 'draining'. Just take it easy, no heavy lifting/work, sex, etc.

My RE said she had it for 2 weeks super heavy flow/clots and all was ok in the end.

Good luck.

My ob told me that my hematoma may or may not cause a m/c.  The worst part is that I read it may cause placental abruption in 2nd trimester.  I am scared out of my wits!

I can't believe you keep supporting me with what you are going through rioght now.  You are such a caring person and will make a great mom soon.  ((HUGS))

First off Yeah!!!  I am so glad baby is good.  I didn't have that, but have heard alot of women talk about it.  I am pretty sure thats what maybebaby has right now as well, and so far shes doing great.  I think she told me that her OB said not that big a deal, its pretty common.  What a relief it must be to know whats happening.  What did your OB say about it? Helen, you know I wish you the best!
