u/s yesterday

I went for my u/s yesterday and I'm really happy that we saw a heart beat.  My only concern is that my beta is 40809 today.  Last time I had a beta done was last Monday, so it's been a week.  Last Monday it came back at 7340.  It didn't doubleDouble-tussin dm and  I'm 6w and 2 days pregnant. I don't know what to think.

i just copied this from a hcg doubling calculator site and i input your beeta numbers and yours doubled in 2.8 days so i really wouldnt be worried hun im sure everything is going ot be jut fine

Beta hCG levels usually double approximately every 2 days for the first four weeks of pregnancy [1]. As  pregnancy progresses the doubling time increases. By 6 to 7 weeks gestation beta hCG levels may take as long as 3 1/2 days to double [2,3]. The beta hCG may take more than 2 to 3 days to double in 15% of normal intrauterine pregnancies.

Congrats on seeing a beautiful heartbeat! Isn't it just an amazing site?!? Adgal is right. Once you see your baby on u/s, the numbers aren't as important. Best wishes :)

I completely agree with adgal.

My doctor wouldnt even monitor HCG levels because of the needless concerns the numbers cause in patients.

Congratulations!

Your HCG levels will not double every 48 hours after about 1200.  The doubling time begins to slow to 72 hours, 96 hours, etc. levelling off around 8 weeks.  Once a heartbeat is seen on an ultrasound, the HCG levels are not an indicator of a good pregnancy.  Ultrasound is far better.  If you had a good heartbeat on your ultrasound, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.  Congratulations!!!
