I have been taking 3000 since about 10-12 weeks of pregnancy they just rechecked at 25 weeks, it has came up tremedously from 17 to 30, but they want me to increase it to 4000. And i have to take iron. I guess they want all your blood work in good standing, just in case

Be sure you are taking what the doctor recommends.

Vitamin D requirements are very individual.  The best way to know if your dose is appropriate is a blood test.  YOu levels should be at least middle of the reference range.

Find out your results and take it from there.
