Now that I looked up at the header, I see that you posted this in Pregnancy at 35+.  How much over 35 are you?  I am a bit surprised the doctor is not putting you on non-stress tests at this point if you are over 40, to monitor the baby.  My docs were freaked out that I went to term, because of my advanced age lol and wanted to track the baby.  Given that they knew he was not having any problems, they were OK with my insistence on going full term, but they were only OK because they were tracking the baby.

Not having a crystal ball, doctors don't actually know to the exact day when someone got pregnant.  (Unless, of course, you did IVF.)  But if you are counting from the first day of your last period, as do bazillions of pregnancies over the globe, you could have ovulated a little bit late, which makes a count of 39 weeks 6 days not so exact.  Walk, drink a lot of liquid, have sex, do your usual routine.  I would bet you won't hit week 41 without naturally going into labor.
