I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  I m/c'd 4 days after seeing my baby and heartbeat and being told everything looked good.  Unfortunately, the doctors can't tell that soon if everything is okay with the baby or not...they just have to go by the "textbook".  I pray God gives you the strength you need to get through this.

Thank you everyone!
To answer some of the questions, the reason I was having one done was because I was spotting. The day before I started bleeding a lot more and even more after the v/us. I went in two days after the us to have my hcg levels checked and they came back this mon. at 700. I should be about 7 weeks and 1 day. During the us everything was perfect! Great heartbeat, I got to hear it as well as fetal movement! They said that the embryo was implanted well and in a good area.
Well I guess there is not much I can do, other then to wait to hear what my levels are like tomorrow. My dr. is going to call in the morning, after I have my levels checked again on thur. I will be going in for another v/us. I just hope everythings turns out good!
Best of luck to everyone else and thank you!

A vaginal ultrasound will not make you miscarry. The vast majority of miscarriages occur because of a genetic abnormality. Other reasons for miscarriage include poor implantation, thinning of uterine wall (low progesterone), or for women who have a blood clotting disorder and other rare conditions.

The cervix is closed very tightly when you are pregnant. The vaginal ultrasound wand touches the cervix, it does not go through it into the uterus (aka womb).

I hope that information helps. Bottom line- a vaginal ultrasound wand will not cause miscarriage.

I hate to say it, but with my first miscarriage @ 6 weeks, I had spotted for 3 days.  Went to the doc just to make sure eveything was ok.  Too early to see anything, even by vaginal u/s, but AS SOON as I got home I started bleeding heavily and did miscarry the baby.
I have always felt that the internal u/s caused the m/c (although my doc would not a
gree.)
Have you heard the heartbeat since the u/s??
Hope this works out for you!!!

You need to call your OB and see what they say.  I have had that before an that never happened to me.  How far alone are you?  Did it hurt with they did it?  You can call you OB's office tonight an the should have a 24 contact number.  My Dr's office has it on their after hour recording/answering machine.  I'm praying that its not a mc.  I'm going to be praying for you.  I would get a 2nd opinion on that.  You can call other OB offices an tell them what is going on.  Ask them if its normal.  Anita

How far along are you? After a vaginal u/s it is possible to bleed since increased blood flow to that area makes it more sensitive; however, 10 days seems a little extreme. Its possible that you have something that is causing the bleeding (subchorionic hematoma) and your doctor isn't worried due to that but I would request your levels be checked to make sure they are rising like they should. I would also recommend another ultrasound.

Thank you, I have seen my doctor two or three times now since.
I bled for 10 days, today was the first day that I have been spotting! My dr. said that there is no concern of m/c and not to worry....

Some bleeding can be normal after a vaginal u/s. If you feel you're having or have had a miscarriage you should go to the ER IMMEDIATELY. Wish you all the best.
