You'll be fine.
High risk just means they need to keep a closer watch on you and the baby.
Just cuz you're high risk doesn't mean something bad's gunna happen!
I am considered high risk. I had a subchorionic hematoma and a low lying placenta. I was on bedrest for a while. I had to go to the OB once a week for almost 6 months. They just monitored me more and did more ultrasounds. It was kind of nice getting to see the baby once a week. Everything healed on it's own thank the lord and no more problems. You will like getting all the extra attention...at least I did. LOL :)
No problemo! I know that many high risk women are also put on bedrest at some point but you just won't know unless something comes up. I wouldn't worry or fret about it. Because it has to do with your digestion/stomach I think they'd be more concerned toward the end of your pregnancy (3rd trimester) when your stomach and intestines are squished pretty tight by your baby and uterus. Definitely ask them, "What makes me high risk and what does this mean for my pregnancy?" at your next appointment to get a better understanding of what they expect for you as a unique individual.
thanks joy, i appreciate the input!
High risk just means they're keeping a closer eye on you. So when you have a concern it'll probably become top priority. It doesn't mean you'll have to have a c-section (you'll worry about that closer to delivery time anyway) but it may mean that you're at a higher risk for having a c-section delivery.
And I do think you will get more sonos and probably be seen more frequently than someone who is considered low risk.
more ultrasounds would be cool! and your right, it is pretty lucky that i will get the special care...i will get to see how babies doing all the time which will be neat. thanks for reasurring me! : ) seems like it may not be so bad after all...
I wasn't high risk when I was pregnant, but I know a lot of people who were. From my understanding, the high risk part was pretty much because you have a higher possibility of something happening (not that it will), and they just want someone to watch you more closely. I think you'll have more appointments, not sure. But on a good note, you'll probably get more ultrasounds which means more cute pics!!! Don't worry, look at it as getting special treatment so you and baby are monitored close and make sure you're 100% a-ok.
