1 positive hpt, 2 negative hpt. Am i pregnant??

Hi guys, I'm so worried at the moment!!  Ok, i got my period on 6th April and did hpt on 24th April and it was positive. I tested again twice the next morning and got 2 negatives!!

The first positive was Clearblue Digital and the 2 negatives were from Clearblue Conception Indicator. My period isn't due until 1st May so I know I tested early. I've been looking around the internet and have noticed a lot of people saying that different hpt require different levels of hCG.

I'm wondering has this ever happened to anyone before and if it's possible that the reason for 2 different results is the hCG required.

Thanks very much :-)

My honest opinion is that the clearblue conception indicator is so advanced that i dont think it knows quite what its doing. I'm a fan of tests with lines myself because you can watch them working. and they more likely to show a faint line. Ovulation always happens 14 days before your period is due so if your sure of your ovulation date then do a test on wednesday (less time to wait!!). And as for the small fortune on hpt's my hubby and i could of bought a house with the money ive spent on them and this time round i took around 9 or 10 which were all negative ended up goin to the doc who did a blood test and it was positive!!!

To answer your first question it was a normal period. I never get light periods ever so if it was one i'd have been delighted!!!  The test I did was Clearblue Digital and it says you can test 4 days before your period is due. The second was Clearblue Digital Conception Indicator which is the same 4 days before.

I'm so impatient I can't wait but I don't want to be spending a small fortune on hpt's!!!  my period is due 1st May so 5 more days to wait (If I last!!)

Was it an early response hpt? cos add 14 days to that and your looking at 29th april, so 5 days before that it may be poss to get a positive on an early hpt. (they didnt work for me personally but thats not to say they dont work) Are you gonna try another test or wait and see?

I have a 24 day cycle so I ovulate on day 10... which would be 15th/16th April and they are the only 2 days I had unprotected sex.

I know its a daft question but was it a "proper" period, i mean normal for you? Cos it would be very strange to get a positive hpt that soon after your period. But I agree with Kim1989 that most tests don't give false positives (false negatives however are very common depending on sensitivity, with my last 2 pregnancy's i must have totalled 5 negative tests each before i got a positive (testing to early lol)).

going by you lpm of april 6th....conception only occured Monday, April 20, 2009 meaning you are not even 3 weeks pregnant. way too soon to even test so either you didnt get your period or you...didnt get your period

I know it sounds silly to do a test that early but I was on antibiotics and knew they affected my contraceptive pill. I had one in the house so I just thought I'd see.... I wasn't expecting this at all!!!
